Why are Vehicles OP?

Hello,

I hope everyone is well and having an excellent week so far! I wanted to shed light on some of the experiences that Ive had when I last played Halo:Infinite in regards to vehicles. I want to know how the community feels about Vehicles in regards to Damage, Speed, Control and other aspects. Please feel free to comment and leave your replies below.

I wanted to share a particular experience that I had the last time I played Halo:Infinite BTB. First of all, I do not have a problem with the control or speed or damage of the vehicles. What I DO have an issue with is the seeming extra protection you seem to get when you get in a vehicle. Now. I understand that you should have “some sort” of protection because the vehicle shields most parts of the body but I had an experience when I chased a player, shot him and popped his shield, the player was absolute and all he needed was 1 more headshot. The player jumped on the back of a mongoose within the span on .30 secs and I was right there but when I shot him a couple more times, he did not die. I also ran up and punched him TWICE while he was on the back of the mongoose and HE STILL DID NOT DIE!, It took me 3 more shoots to kill him after that. I instantly turned the game off. Im so tired of seeing childish, poor, cheap mechanics like this in a Halo game or any game for that fact. Even though I ended up killing the player it took me more time than it actually should have to kill him because his shields were already popped absolute before he accidentally jumped on the back of the Mongoose instead of the driver seat. I have sent that recording to Halo support already as well. Whatever shield regeneration mechanic or whatever is going on with vehicles and all the extra protection needs to be reworked. There is no reason for vehicles being such a barrier to certain weapons especially if almost their entire body is exposed on vehicles like the Mongoose.

I’ve never had any issues meleeing someone out of vehicles in infinite. That sounds more like a server issue to me. The game probably just wasn’t registering placement or damage correctly. I’ve punched 3 guys out of a warthog before only needing two hits at the most for one of them and they had shields.

My opinion vehicles are about worthless in Infinite. Very limited routes for maneuvering and quite a few anti vehicle weapons/abilities. Infinite isn’t very vehicle friendly at all.

Desync…
Sounds like you’re shots aren’t registering because the vehicles in this game are laughably weak.

Would like to see video of this.

@LethalQ sure it is. It just doesn’t make you unstoppable if you get them

@Little_Squash I mean… Or he’s actually missing…

Can you post links in the forums? If so, Ill share the video.

I sent it to you on Xbox Messages.

Most vehicles seem fine to me. You can get some really good use out of them if you plan things well.

The only vehicles that really bother me are the flying ones, the Wasp and Banshee.

The Wasp, for how easy it is to use, is way to tanky in my opinion. You can get tons of kills in that, and even spawn camp bases rather hard with it. I’ve had instances were I’ve been killed 2-3 times in a row the instant I respawn in because the Wasp is on my -Yoink!- instantly and murders me before I get any real time to react with it.

I would make it far easier to take down with basic gun fire personally.

The Banshee on the other hand is too easy to destroy and is a lot more difficult to use then the Wasp. I honestly feel in this case it should actually be buffed. Banshee’s can get a few kills if piloted well, but you’re not going to be doing anything close to what a good Wasp pilot does.

I’ll check into it at some point today

I know right? The super easy to use one is harder to kill and easier to kill with, but the harder to use option is harder to get kills with and is made with wet recycled toilet paper.

The Wasp needs to move slower and be more of an area of control/denial vehicle.

The Banshee is meant to be an attack runner. Doing quick fly by kills and getting out before it really takes damage.

Currently the Wasp is far too mobile and just suppresses the entire map and the Banshee is just way too weak in both damage and health.

Also, as of late I’ve noticed people can hijack vehicles that are zooming at them at full speed ( 2 ghosts using boost and Warthog recently for me ) from the front as of late.

What the heck is this lol? I know grapple jacking can be done in this manner ( also believe it should be a splat if you grapple a vehicle from the front that’s moving at higher speeds towards you ), But normal jacks if you jump? That’s a bit lame IMO lol.

I mean I’ve always been good at highjacking. I was a monster in H3. I’d frequently do exactly that where I’d jump and just hold the button to try and jack it as it goes under me. It helped if I’d look down before I jumped. It was about a 40/60 on me highjacking.

It’s something that’s always been a thing. It just took timing and skill and sometimes luck. The servers in Infinite and desync kinda toss skill out the window most of the time.

Bruh, I think the general consensus is that vehicles are underpowered in this game.

If I recall…weren’t vehicles overpowered in Halo: Combat Evolved?

Man, we really are returning to our roots!!

Vehicles are suppose to be stronger than your player. it’s like that in real life to that’s why you don’t see solder complaining about not being able to shoot down a filter jet or a tank with just a hand gun. Maybe instead try asking 343 for a game type that doesn’t have Vehicles in it.

Wait…were we not complaining a lot back in the day when Halo 4 came out about how vehicles WEREN’T powerful enough?

4’s vehicles were plenty powerful, but the real issue was everyone was fully capable of neutralizing and destroying them before they could really do anything. Freaking stupid loadout system.

Halo 4 was more to do with there weaker armor not just there fire power.
