Holy hell, I hate the vehicles in this game. They’re so hard to control. I’ve had that happen many times where I’ll full speed plow into a guy and they’ll survive while I go flying into the horizon. Or I’ll hit the smallest pebble and flip endlessly. I try to avoid vehicles in this game for that reason. Why are the vehicles in this game so bad at handling?

It’s hilarious. When you drive a mongoose and then pull back on the stick you’ll sometimes go wildly out of control and do 180s and 360s.
And warthogs are easier to drive and control. Just use reverse and forward accordingly. Going to crash? Pull back. You can also control a warthog’s tilt in the air for some reason. You just lean forward or back and it tilts because you weigh a thousand pounds I guess.

Told a friend about controlling the Warthog in the air the other day. He seemed amazed but then again he never drives as he has me to ferry him around. I particularly like using it to right myself from a crash, roll with the momentum and you can more often than not land on your wheels again. The trick to decent wheelman driving is slow and steady and keeping your distance. Most people don’t understand that and as a result I never ride with randoms, they just get me killed.
As for the OP describing the vehicles as like polyester. What the hell does that mean?
The mongoose has always been easily knocked about as has the ghost so i dont find them too bad (apart from the odd glitch) but i think the warthog feels pretty good to drive. although i didnt realise you could alter it whilst in the air.

Not this bad though, it’s very inconsistent with 5. Let me give you an example.
I was driving a hog on the left of my teams controlled fortress (storm break) and I was slowing down, the side of the hog tapped a teammate who INSTANTLY died–he was at full shields by the way.
Now another one- I’m driving another Hog this time, going full speed, try to splatter an opponent, I hit one dead on (far faster than the previous example) and he didn’t die, just break his shields. Similar things happen with ghosts, but instead I flip after hitting them sometimes.

I have had these kind of glitches on every halo game and (to me at least) they dont seem anymore frequent in H5 than before

At least the physics are better than Garry’s Mod. Also, remember back in Reach, when at any moment your vehicle would suddenly fly off into space at Mach 1 speed? Halo: Reach “Fails of the Weak” had SO MANY of those clips it was HILARIOUS!

What I find even more remarkable is that he spelled “polyester” right, but did not spell “vehicles” or “pebble” correctly…
My biggest problem with vehicles in Halo 5 in addition to what OP said, is the way vehicle health works. The problem originated in reach where regular weapons could seriously hurt vehicles. I mean sure if you have a sniper out it makes sense it can hurt vehicles badly, but c’mon banshee ultra being wrecked by BR’s???
If you drive a warthog to the enemy armory, be careful of that styrofoam cup on the ground. If you hit it, your warthog will be launched into the air, flip 24 times, and blow up once it hits the ground.
