Why are thrusters built into all armor?

One thing i have noticed repeatedly that no one has mentioned is the fact that all Spartan aromor in halo 4 has these built in thrusters. Look at this picture Halo Bulletin

On his back you will notice a very pronounced thrust-er. From this angle only one is viewable, but in many videos and screen shots you will notice these from all angles and there are two on the back of the armor in the area of a spartans shoulder blade

Regardless of what AA the player chooses these are always there all tho not always active. When a player uses thruster pack you will notice the thrust, at least part of it, is coming from these built in thruster packs.

Could it be that the new “game mode” on longbow has something to do with these built in thrusters? If not, is there purpose purely visual when not using the TP AA. If so, why have these been built in visualy and not the other AA’s? Im very confused about this…

Imgaine them in Spartan Armor

Could this be a hidden game play feature the community is unaware of?

does the community have any input?

The thrusters are built into Mk VI armour. Perhaps the Mk VII armour doesn’t have it built-in?

> The thrusters are built into Mk VI armour. Perhaps the Mk VII armour doesn’t have it built-in?

Im talking about the MJOLNIR GEN2 POWERED ASSAULT ARMOR the armor all of us that play MM will be using. The Spartan 4’s armor.

Does nobody have a anwser to this?

343i is hiding something i can smell it, im calling it right now.

I thought those were just the zero G thruster packs like Gen I armor.

I’m guessing because the spartans are in space a lot. :stuck_out_tongue:

This ^

Yes. Which technically is the type of combat Spartan 4’s should be highly trained in according to canon. Imgaine them in Spartan Armor

Probably this, the AA probably just boosts its power to work in gravity.

Well they’re zero-g thrusters in the event a Spartan has to traverse the void of space without a vehicle, so they are (in addition to gold plated visors in most cases) standard issue basically.

I’d guess the thruster AA allows the thrusters to sufficiently propel a Spartan through more planetary conditions.

That looks like alot of fun actually lol

Did you get a chance to watch this Zero Gravity FPS

I knew all along they were for that purpose, yet when I bring up that zero gravity combat is a main part of halo lore, people look at me like im crazy,

Yes, and that COD style space combat. Imgaine it in a Halo setting with shields and longer kill times. add in vehicles like the sabre and frigate, and you got yourself a hootin tootin good time

Its in all the Halo’s Spartan armor… its just less noticeable in the other halos

I don’t see the problem with thruster packs being standard equipment on Spartan armour, especially since Spartans seem to use them on a semi-regular basis.

I don’t know what’s happening.

I do however dislike the rising amount of Koala members. Quit that, I’m becoming less unique.

could be the way the speed boost is implemented as well doubt it but you never know

I think it is more prominent now due to 343i wanting to make the armor look and feel functional.

Look at theBack Of Armor Halo 3

Those sorta look like thruster packs… they are in similar locations but where does the thrust come from? Those black slits?

They were thruster packs, just poorly designed ones.
