Why Are There Personal EMBLEMS In Slayer?

I noticed that in the clip of BR Slayer we saw that next to the scoring were two emblems. So, what’s up with that? Any theories?

Perhaps some sort of evolved Clan system? I really have no idea.

No idea, like above could be a clan thing, could just be whoever has the most kills for that team? No idea. Wish I could have my tattoo as my emblem, oh well it does have my emblem on the skull. I love my emblem

I think it may be a Megalo test. If the gametype scripting has access to the Emblem system, and can actually design emblems to show on the HUD on the fly, then – assuming that the right emblem shapes are available – they could create team icons out of emblems.

To speak in Reach terms, an example of something they could do with that would be showing Covenant and UNSC emblems on the scoreboards in Invasion.

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact the UNSC factions are fighting each other?

And here I thought it was Unicorns vs. Werewolves in the ViDoc.

I’m just glad to see they’re retaining the emblem system Bungie designed. Here’s to hoping they don’t remove any emblems.

Did people forget that Slayer is FFA? Slayer is FFA. Team Slayer is teams. The emblems seen in the VIDoc are the emblems of the top player and you. This will be most likely be in all FFA gametypes.

In the new footage we see the game type set as Slayer yet the score goes up not by individual kills but by points. Is this a custom game? A new Slayer variant? Or is this how the default Slayer scoring is going to be? –zNiTeY

The footage of MP you saw is taken from our internal Network test build and actually features a mashup of various game styles and UI elements, so don’t spend too much time trying to figure out what’s happening in it, because outside of surface elements, it’s not going to teach you a lot about any particular game mode. However, our new implementation of Slayer will score differently than the traditional 0-50 method of yore, and is one of 100 things we’ll share with you more deeply in the coming months.

Straight up says. Dont worry about stupid HUD crap. Besides FFA shows it of the top 2 players. C’mon people.

blue unicorns vs red wolves

choose your side.

lol jk

Could signify the return of the Halo 2 Clan system, maybe something like clans in CoD Elite.

Unicorns…

They are the emblems for the red and blue team respectively.

They had said in the “First Look” video that they’ve created a pretty compelling reason as to why it’s Red vs. Blue so maybe this plays into it and the emblems that they’re using at this time are just place-holders.

Haha, this forum makes me feel like Conspiracy Keanu >.>

If we were to use Logic.
We would figure that his is an older build of Halo 4.
That means that most likely these are placeholders for Red and Blue teams ACTUAL emblems.

But who uses logic on the Halo 4 forums???

Probably the post that’s right above yours.

That is hilarious

My guess is that they represent the leading player on each team.

Sir, that was a brilliant idea of yours ;p

But yeah, I do support ffa & clan tag ideas.

It could have been a free for all? With the emblem being that certain individual’s emblem.
