How come there are no big team maps (aside from Ragnarok) in Halo 4 that are more open and vehicle friendly? Every single Halo 4 big team map is just cramped and cavernous. Take Meltdown as a prime example. There’s absolutely no manueverability. I’m sad to see this pattern repeated with Shatter. It’s essentially the same style of map as the rest: lots of indoor structures with a ton of rocks in the natural areas and strict roadways. Whatever happened to the likes of Sandtrap, Avalanche, Relic, etc.?
But, whatever. 343’s already made the maps so it’s no use requesting any. And it’s not like you can forge those kinds of maps. I guess we’re all doomed.
Because the DMR ruins any possibiltites for such maps. The DMR is a problem that needs to be taken out back and shot.(After posting and re-reading this I realized how odd it would be to shoot a gun with another gun)
If anyone else has noticed, since the introduction of sprint, AAs, and the DMR a large amount of problems are beginning to arise.

You can’t really just up and remove a long range weapon from the game.
The Battle Rifle was balanced in Halo 3 because it was pretty much a medium range weapon only. It didn’t dominate large maps.
The DMR and Lightrifle are capable of shooting across the map. Spawning with mini-snipers would ruin these maps.

When you give the player the choice of their starting weapon the map HAS to be build around the weapons.
The DMR restricts map movement and therefor BTB maps must now have much more cover and CQB areas to offset the DMR’s advantage. At the cost of vehicular fun.
On top of that(no pun intended) the maps are just vertically smaller too, it’s like they designed all of Halo 4 to be entirely about low rate of fire accuracy weapons. It makes the gameplay really boring in my opinion because everytime you encounter someone it’s just a test to see who can get headshots better. Plus they essentially nerfed all the vehicles anyway since the warthog drives like a freakin boat and they got rid of passenger air vehicles entirely.
Sounds like a need of the return of Hemorrhage. After the DMR is fixed. I’m one of those who actually shoots at someone when my reticule is over them. I wasn’t even aware of the bullet magnetism until the whole specialization fiasco forced me to come on to the forums.
