Why are there barely anyone playing new

playlists?

Everyime a new playlist is added, everyone is either playing Infinity Slayer, Big Team. Nobody is playing Legendary slayer. It’s like 343 is wasting their time making new playlists.

need a reason to play it, if its no different than normal slayer etc, why bother.

also like me many people are probably trying to get a commendation for X weapon or something.

the list could go on for why people dont play it, but could also go on for why people do play.

It’s the low population I have to say. However, the ratio of players to each playlist is quite normal, most arep laying the main slayer gametypes (Infinity and Big Team), then come the more asymetrical(Flood, Action Sack and Objectives) and then the slayer Mash ups.

Also, don’t forget that their is tournament going on at the moment so most people want to be in that.

Because infinity Slayer is currently all I really want to play. Nothing is cooler than personal ordinance drops. Its seriously a lot of fun. sometimes I play CTF, but I wish it was just infinity CTF.

Also I play only infinity Slayer because I don’t like team killing and I love instant respawn.

Trolling?

I think it’s because all of the good players don’t play Halo 4.
The vast majority now consists of new players who want to be hand-fed all their kills.
That and those chasing Commendations.

It’s not impossible for someone to like Infinity you know :stuck_out_tongue:

OT: There could be a few reasons for this. The players who may once have populated the playlist may have left during the seven month hiatus without it. Those who didn’t leave might be turned away by the lack of precision weapon spawns or the forced AR starts.

As much as it’s close to classic Halo, it’s still now quite right.

I’ve got over 100 games in LS now. Play it every day.

Low population over all in the game and people will usually stick with what they enjoy. Besides all playlists will have a high peak population the first few days from release and later on drop down. For example first week of Global Championship peaked at about 7k players now it’s down to a steady 900-1000 players at peak hours.

New playlists are far too late. I really dont understand why there werent any classic playlists SINCE LAUNCH.

The default Slayer at the top of the playlists is always the most popular, in any FPS game. Its at the top, easy to find, no hard OBJ gametypes to learn, ain’t gotta try hard, fastest matches cuz the most people to pick from. That’s how it’ll always be. But with that having personal ordinance drops, and since most other playlists don’t now, i’d say the true Halo fans are the ones in other playlists now, and the newer people are in the default Infinity playlist:P #LegendaryBRs coming soon!! Thats all me, that and Throwdown:)

because anyone who wanted normal halo left long ago.

the only people who play now are the ones who like the new stuff that (in my opinion) clutters up the game. a classic playlist should have been available at launch but it wasnt.

im glad others like this new halo, but now all i can play is ctf since most times people vote for the option without infinity settings. legendary slayer has too low a population for a random like me to do anything on.

Historically, Team Slayer and Big Team Battle have always been the most popular playlists.

I think one of the main problems is that there are just too many playlists.

Majority of the population have probably adapted to default H4 gameplay.

As for the rest, they have probably come to the realization that the H3 style gameplay can only be achieved in the game that it originated in…

Imitations, regardless of quality, will never be adequate.

It’s quite normal for the default playlists to remain the most popular.

The low population wont be helpng things either.

Cuz that style of Halo was fun five years ago but has since grown stale? Cuz more people are allergic to change than we might realize? The Halo 2 and Halo 3 crowd grew up, got mortgages, started families, don’t have time for video games? Better/more popular games have usurped Halo as the premier FPS? Pick a reason… they’re as numerous as the stars.

I think if it was really in such demand, playlists like Throwdown and Legendary Slayer would have halfway respectable populations. Assuming, of course, that all the “old vanguard” who complain about Halo 4 are true Halo fans and not just bitter that the times might have passed them by.

What is “normal halo”? I’m very sure my definition is far different than yours

I actually just posted this in another thread:

> Legendary Slayer still doesn’t play like previous Halo games, so I wouldn’t call it a good comparison. The maps have a lot more open space, so BRs dominate, making the ARs almost useless. Halo 2’s SMG had much better full-auto range than Halo 4’s AR, so it was a lot better (and quicker) at taking down BR users. Halo 2 and 3 also had higher weapon despawn times, so you could pretty quickly ditch the SMG/AR for either a newly spawned or dropped weapon. Then Sprint allows you to move across a map in just seconds, so once you clean up enemies from an area, you don’t have as much time to regroup and recollect yourself before enemies reappear.

> I’m not necessarily complaining. But many people are saying, “classic Halo is there, it’s called ‘Legendary Slayer,’” and these people cannot have played previous Halo games, or they would know it’s still pretty far from it.

> 1. Call of Duty is still better at casual gameplay because Halo 4 still requires some elements of strategy and practice. It still doesn’t appeal to “casual” players as much as Call of Duty does.
> 2. Because of the dumbing-down of map and power weapon control with POs and the random advantages given by AAs and perks, it lost some of its loyal fanbase.

you know full well that im referring to halo of old. you know the ones without killstreaks, aa’s, instant respawn, etc.

343 seems to have acknowledged their error and im hopeful for halo 5 however i believe anyone who wanted this style halo has left in connection with halo just not being “the” fps game to have anymore. thats why the numbers are down and down especially on a more traditional halo playlist.

“bad campaign” is an opinion, I thought the writing was great, the story is the only solid one since CE, I could care less about the multiplayer, so see where our opinions of normal Halo are different

Legendary is a fun playlist, but there are problems they need to fix. They need to tune the pistol in that playlist so it could be added as a secondary. The reason we supposedly don’t have a pistol at the moment is for balancing reasons, to promote map movement or some bull. Legendary BRs needs to be added. After those things are done, I will be happy with the playlist.
