Why are the xbox gamepass monthly items limited time?

I really like getting the gamepass rewards, but i wish they werent time sensitive. You should be able to redeem the code whenever you like

You have an entire month, hit redeem, and be done. How much time do you need?

Im busy, sometomes i don’t pay attention for an entire month. Is that a crime?
