They pretty much did in halo 5 after you unlock them for warzone.
Personally I prefer it as it was.

yeah. the gap is fun for me. I love that we don’t know what happened with Cortana.

I was so stoked to find that this entire Forerunner plot lead somewhere good. XD
Their fuel is life and could consume the ring not just the biological life on the ring, they have the ability to mold into technology if you saw the animation and remember when he ( grave mind) forced master Chief and the arbiter to work together showing who he had in his form a monitor and a prophet, still I can’t believe the flood are precursors failed attempt at immortality like they couldn’t just had weapons just in case their creations like the forerunners when they rebelled but noooo they were space hippies lol

He didn’t hate them he just didn’t want them to get to Cortana cuz he didn’t trust them I think also probably didn’t understand the concept of friendship or know why Cortana was so emotionally attached to John
he didnt mold into the Monitor XD. he ensnared it. XD lol.
