Why are the prometheans robots?

I thought in the recent fiction stated that the Prometheans were actual forunners?
Not just forunner tech…isn’t anyone else confused by this?

also just a side question, but i was wondering why all the forunner tech lights up red rather than blue like in previous Halos…my guess is that all the tech is actually currupted under the Didact’s controll and that the blue ones seen briefly at E3 was on our side?

Ugh… they’re machines that are the PRODUCTS of Promethean Forerunners. Therefore, they’re Promethean.

My assumptions: The Knights, etc. aren’t the ‘Prometheans’ per se, but are container for their body/consciousness.

Some forerunner tech is yellowy orange, look at the sentinels beams, the blue sentinel beams are from the high level more effective sentinels, which I’m guessing the blue Prometheans are just more upgraded as well.

They are machines created by the forerunners for defensive purposes. They relate to the sentinels from halo 3, only much stronger and advanced.

Then why do they have [seemingly] vestigial biological arms?

yeah i thought about that too…i think probably that it’s just redish orange for the military part of forunner tech…and blue is more civilian

They look more effective at interacting with smaller objects and control panels than their cannon arms and sword arms.

Yes, but the fact that they seem to not be metal suggests that something within the metal casing is a biological entity.

I have to Agree with Cool Aid, the smaller set seem well suited for more gentle or precise applications. But it does beg the question, wouldn’t they be able to interface with out physical contact? They are A.I,'s.

Going to guess a major plot-twist.

> Cortana thinks they are AI’s

> Fight them for awhile

> Turns out they’re Forerunners in protective casings

> omg freakout

It’s gonna be explained in Silentium, probably.

think of them as a legacy, left behind by the FLESH prometheans.

Prometheans are a culmination of warriors, made to fend off intruders. Sentinels are basically maintenance machines to keep any forerunner tech safe, but are armed in order to repel threats.

I’ve heard a theory that some of them are rampant and the blue ones are not. Whether thats true or not is to be determined, its just a theory. I on the other hand, have no idea.
