Why are the Forerunner weapons orange?

The Forerunners are blue (they’re only orange when controlled by the Didact) so why are there weapons orange from the beginning?

Guess mainly due to the whole ‘‘Incediary’’ theme to it, as well as to make it differ a bit, as we´re already used to a lot of blue from covie arms and vehicles.

As for campaign, they needed a burning orange instead of traditional forerunner blue to represent danger, anger and ‘‘evil’’. In contrast to the soothing, calm and peaceful blue/white theme to forerunners otherwise.

Because the Didact is orange, I guess…

Remember in the cutscene where he changes all the Prometheans from blue (the usual Forerunner color) to orange?

The Prometheans are digitized Forerunners and Humans not actual Forerunners. Promeatheans are just AIs. Not sure why the Promeatheans change colors (the weapons always stay the same color)

I know that but why would their weapons be orange even though the Prometheans are originally blue.

@Goggy

You’re probably right but it would’ve been cool if the weapons were blue in the beginning and then turned orange when the Didact appears.

if you are talking about campaign then its probably because of the coding. its so much easier to adjust an enemy type rather than have separate weapon skins for just a couple of campaign missions also the bullets. and the lighting effects.

They were actually originally orange when they were first created but once the Librarian imprisoned the Didact she turned them blue, then when he got out he turned them back to orange. If you watch the terminal videos it shows you :wink:

Promethean weapons are based of Warrior - Class forerunner design, in which orange could have distinguished Warrior Forerunners from other classes of forerunners like Miners, or Builders or Life workers.

As for Prometheans on Requiem being blue, I figured the Libarian was to blame, as she imprisoned the Didact, she possibly controlled the prometheans, which explains why they attacked the covenant early on instead of working with them (in the latter case, the Didact assumed full control of his army again and decided to work or assimilate the Covenant Storm faction to his cause).

Good to know. I think I’ll watch the terminal videos. Anyway, thanks for the info.
