Why are the Elites so stupidly huge?

Have the Elites’ heights been getting more and more exaggerated as this series goes on? If you’ve ever seen the rendering of a Sprtan-III and an Elite standing side-by-side from Reach, it looks ridiculous.

We get a clear look at the overly exaggerated height distinction between Glassman and that commanding Elites whose name I forget.

Do the Elites REALLY need to be this tall? I supposed in Halo 6 they’ll be bigger than a tree, yet we’ll still be able to kill them with the butt of our gun somehow. >_>

They havent been getting taller per say. More like the player has been getting smaller. But they were always in the 7 feet and change range.

The new armor makes them look like they found every oreo in the universe and ate em though.
They used to be skinny and nimble…

I like that they’re big. An elite is meant to be a decent match for a spartan, especially physically.

Elites have always been huge. The average Elite is 7’6". The Chief, in armor, is 7’2". You Spartan-III character in Halo Reach is 6’6".

They also decided they’re too cool for forearm armor.

now that you mention it…CE elites and the ones now definitely look different…but thats cuz the height thing as posted above.

Does this LOOK like a foot’s difference?

I don’t see why Elites need to be so friggin’ big. It kind of offsets the believability that the UNSC are capable of beating the Covenant on the ground.

You must be using one of those side door mirrors on a car. Just remember objects are larger than they appear on the mirror.

If they were a “decent” match for a Spartan, Master Chief would have been killed by the third level of Halo CE. For Master to have realistically made it through all four games he’s in, he would have to be able to dispatch Elites without too much difficulty.

So that’d make a Spartan-III three feet tall by the looks of it. Nice.

WELCOME TO THE GUN SHOW!!! WORT WORT WORT

They’ve always been so big according to description, but Bungie has proven to be not so good with proportions in the previous Halo games… or at least according to view from the HUD.

Oh man, I lol’d.

elites were absolutely not even close to a match let alone decent match to spartans they dominated in cqc period elite and brute alike

Only a few months after augmentation procedures the SPARTAN-IIs were noted of being capable of running at speeds exceeding 55 km/h or 34.2 mph. Kelly-087 was capable of running even faster than this speed. Later during the Human-Covenant war while in her Mark V MJOLNIR Armor, Kelly-087s the top speed recorded was 62 km/h or 38.5 mph[8] John-117 has been noted to have briefly ran at around 105 km/h or 65.2 mph during a MJOLNIR MARK V training exercise, however his Achilles tendon was torn because the strain put on his body was unsustainable.[9]

The SPARTAN-IIs are capable of lifting three times their body weight, which is double the normal weight of an average human due to the ceramic bone augmentations, in addition to their increased muscle density. Fred-104 is noted for using his enhanced strength combined with his skills to kill a Brute with his bare hands during Operation: First Strike. Cal-141 was capable of blocking a Jiralhanae Chieftain’s Gravity Hammer swing with a single hand, dodging multiple swings from the Chieftain, use her enhanced muscle strength to jump to great heights, and wound the Chieftain with a few punches and kicks. During the events of Halo: The Flood, John-117 was able to use his enhanced strength to kill Covenant Elite’s with skull breaking punches. During the events on planet Onyx, Will-043 used his enhanced strength to engage a Hunter pair in hand to hand combat, and succeeded in killing one by ripping the worms out of its body. In the same battle, Kelly-087 engaged three Sangheili Major/Spec-Ops Elite’s in hand to hand combat, snapping the wrist of one Elite, taking his energy sword, and cutting three Elite’s in half with a single swing.

A SPARTAN-II’s reaction time while impossible to chart accurately is estimated to be twenty milliseconds, their reaction times are significantly faster in combat situations or with A.I. assistance. The reaction times of the SPARTAN-IIs are so fast that they are able to think, react and see things happen in slow and fast motion - it is dubbed as “SPARTAN Time” by Kelly-087.[10] SPARTAN-IIs are also known for their sharp eyesight being able to virtually see in the dark.

elites are no where near a close more or even a decent match against spartan-II’s.
not even brutes nor hunters could best them 1v1 or (2v1 in the case of hunters since they only attack in a pair) they dominated cqc period

That is simply not true despite their augmentations and armor. ONE Elite, on two occasions, and ONE Brute kicked Chief’s -Yoink-. Yes, he came out on top, but it was no easy feat as you make it sound.

I don’t care what it looks like. It’s very easy to make sure 3d models are the exact height they need to be. If Bungie said that the Elite models are 7’6" and the Spartan-III model is 6’6", I’m inclined to believe them.

Again, Elites have always been pretty big.
