Why are sprint and dodge because of thrusters?

As the title suggests, I am confused why the decision was made to have advanced spartan movement done with thruster packs. I have always wanted the ability for movement in game to be similar to what the Spartans were actually capable of. So why on earth did they mandate thruster packs for sprinting and dodging when Spartans move way faster (without thrusters) than the thruster sprint allows. The thruster simply creates the well heated shoulder charge discussion. As for the dodge, why limit it to the thrusters? There is plenty of room for extremely creative “dodge animations” and even dodge button combos that would be extremely slick if done well. For instance, a dive roll if you dodge/jump/crouch to any direction. And with the way fps games are going these days, the moves could be done very well in first person and really add to “I’m a freaking Spartan” feeling. What do you guys think?? Could this be done without destroying the core halo experience? Personally the thrusters remove the halo feeling for me way more than their gameplay mechanics do.

Spartans should be able to sprint regardless of thrusters.

Since the elites can already do it… Yeah, I could go for some variety in the Spartan dodge moves.

Half of what makes a Spartan so cool is the the armor, that being said the concept of the thrusters being used to help Spartans dodge and sprint just looks cooler in gameplay then not having then there. It makes it feel closer to the scifi element, and it helps make the armor feel more than just metal plates. It give purposes to form.

We we already know the Spartan II/IV can do all this stuff without them but it looks cooler to suggest the thrusters help.

The thruster lets them manuver while airborne.

Joltlord, that is why I didn’t mention ground pound, stabilize, or thruster use in the air. I simply find it silly to have sci-fi tech being used for abilities Spartans already are capable of. I.e. Kelly sprinting at 60kph.
