I was looking at the cosmetics of the Armor Cores to see if anything new was going to be added in the season. I was excited to see that we have plenty of new stuff for Mark VII and Mark V Bravo but I then noticed something odd today.
Certain armor pieces that weren’t featured in any shop cycles, events, or even the main battle pass are showing up as “Vaulted - Released during Season 1”. Specifically the following -
- CQC helmet & shoulders
- JFO helmet, shoulders, and knee guards
- Two visors for Mark V Bravo
- A pair of Yoroi Shoulders
- A Yoroi Wrist Attachment
These items weren’t showcased at any point during last Season. So what gives?

Gotta find some way to continue gatekeeping half the catalogue from the player base! Over half the knee pads are unavailable or only acquired through the store!

These might be worth looking through - might be an answer in there. OK probably not.

Either way it implies that this was content that was technically available for the season, but they couldn’t find a way to wedge it in somehow. Kinda like how Winter Contingency left out a lot of christmas content. (a Helmet, two helmet attachments, and two chest pieces that we know of.)

There a blue coating for the hydra i never saw available.

Some of these skins were likely promo skins you could obtain from products you bought IRL that came with an unlock code. Like that glossy glitter skin.
But when it comes to actual armor pieces, they were never locked behind promo codes.

I’m going to go ahead and guess that these are items that will become available at some point during this season. As a fan of the Samurai armor I had immediately noticed the shoulders and wrist item added in with the “released in season 1” text and was scratching my head about it for a minute. I can’t imagine 343 would be so stupid as to decide to showcase in-game items that you never had a chance to unlock and never will. So most likely at some point we will be seeing these items show up, most likely as bundles in the store, though I suppose you never know. They might do an event with an event pass that includes new content for the Mark V [B] core or the Yoroi core, although I really doubt that.

Either that OR it is something like this -

The items in that link are helmets that were in the game files during the first season. Notice that the new helmets are all in the “In Files” section while the helmets that say “Released during Season 1” are in the “In Game” section?
Perhaps it is an auto script that is saying that these items were technically released in Season One, but you never got the option to actually acquire them?
So as a result an automatic script is saying “Released during Season 1” but you never got to even see the items during Season 1 because of how the shop and event rotations were; resulting in what we have now.

Probably the same reason there are two stances that say unlocked in Halo Infinite Campaign, even though they are not in the campaign.
My guess is that they are going to be unlocked upon completing parts 2 and 3 of the campaign… parts we don’t have yet.
Im guesisng what was available in the store was random.
It would explain why we have had looping items in the shop.
Just this week alone, the daily items have been repeats of what was released a couple days prior. Tuesday and Friday had the same daily items, as did Wednesday and Saturday.
It bothers me mainly cause i want to know when they’ll come around again they really just need to make all of the items purchasable at any time that’d be nice
But i assume they vault them to buy themselves more time to create more content which is depressing
Eventually I hope that the shop system gets reworked.
Something akin to the items shop of Rainbow Six Siege.
Two types of currencies - Spartan Credits and Tokens.
Spend Tokens that you earn through completing challenges and gameplay experience on armor items, similar to how MCC has The Exchange.
You can also spend IRL money on items through use of Spartan Credits.
Each Armor Core will have its own separate shop tab, as well as a shop tab for Weapons, Vehicle, and Player ID cosmetics.
The front-page of the shop would then feature a discount section, showcasing what item bundles are on discount for the week, with some singular items rotating in the daily segments; similar to how we have the shop right now.
And when an event rolls around, the discount shop is replaced by the Event shop.
Items that are obtainable through Event Passes would only be obtainable through Spartan Credits by buying the bundle of items ONLY IF THE EVENT IS NOT LIVE. So if the event makes a return, players can unlock Event Pass items by playing the event.
In the ingame files theres plenty of helmets and gear thats not been released, Theres the mark V helmet ive been waiting for thats used on the mark V core.
So little released, and theres yet more stuff they just haven’t released at all for some reason.
That reason?
“Live Service Game”
They believe that they have to restrict content and drip-feed it out in order to meet the standards of a LSG title. Every update has to have a splash of content for everything in the game. Mark V Bravo will likely see new content throughout the first two years of Infinite.
Even though the new armor cores will provide plenty of content for the season they are featured in. From the leaks I have seen, the Rakshasa armor will have plenty of things that have yet to be seen, likely to be featured in the shop and the events. Especially “The Yappening” event.
They would make more money if we could purchase individual armour pieces, anytime we wish. I love the Celox helmet, but I’m not about to drop $12+ on the bundle if that’s the only item I would use.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want bundles removed. I just think they should exist as a more economical way of buying in bulk.

I wonder if they’re saving some of those items for possible future Heroes Of Reach part 2 battle pass.
