Are you really this stupid 343? It’s just as bad as firefight. Every match you get some idiot standing there doing nothing. It should NOT be up to the banhammer to catch these people. The XP payout should be based on performance/participation. Plain and simple. What? We can’t require people to at least do SOMETHING to rank up? If you can’t be bothered to get kills in Spartan Ops, you have no business playing. If you suck too much to earn your XP, then go trade in the game.
Would be good if the ingame point system somehow was translated into exp (This would only work for MM not SpOps, from what I’ve seen anyway). The only 2 things i’ve seen that have an effect on MM xp is JiP, if you joined mid way part of the exp is lowered, and if the other team quits out completely the exp is less.

Yeah i see people in Spartan Ops run out, get about 10 to 11 kills depending on level, then idle the rest of the time somewhere.

I am top performer in my match. But for example, in that situation, I get 1640EXP, the people that got less kills and did absolutely nothing for 2500EXP.
343i EXP system is really screwed, random, nonfunctional, on a basis you’re paid EXP only for participation and for completed challenges.
EXP system makes absolutely NO sense. I agree. It’s flawed and stupid.
Yeah, I’m glad glad we can choose to play alone or with friends and avoid randoms entirely with this, unlike firefight. Score attack was garbage on Reach and custom firefight matches didn’t count toward commendations or anything.
I do agree that this XP farming tactic needs to be addressed, if you have zero movement for a certain about of time following certain amount of deaths kicked out of game and this kick should send you to the games main menu and not back into match making
Also 0 kills in a game should be rewarded with 0 XP

I’ve had BTB games where I’ve drove the hog all game and had no kills, because I had no kills the game assumed I was idle even though I had 30+ medals and gave me 100XP.
Idle players aren’t getting anything.

If you have things to do, there’s a simple solution: LEAVE THE -Yoink- GAME so the people who actually want to play it can end up playing with other live people instead of jackoffs that just want free XP (and perfections in the case of firefight)! It’s just as bad as people who constantly team kill when they don’t get the weapons/vehicles they want in matchmaking. People who refuse to actually participate in the match have no business being in the match. People on Reach use dot literally sit in the spawn the whole match doing nothing and watch their screen to run away if anything started shooting them because they wanted free perfections, or they went to hide and watched so people didn’t blast them out. They didn’t have the skill to get perfections in fireifght and didn’t deserve them, nor did they deserve to leech off of others’ work.

You can easily hit 5950 exp idling. That’s max exp for spops.
Seriously, there are more important problems to fix then people “idling”. Like fixing the multiplayer from the ground up.

Ignore him Viper. According to his service record he doesn’t even own the game. Oh and you can’t get perfections idling because you need a minimum number of kills too.

In MP you get XP based on:
-Victory
-Scoreboard Rank
-Time Played
If you played the entire match and did not JiP then you should max out this category, if you win then you max this out as well and if you get 1st place on the scoreboard then you max it out as well; which should be around 3k XP. If you lose then you will get around 2300 XP, etc.
In Spartan Ops:
-Get 10 kills or more
Once you get 10 kills or more, you are guaranteed 5950 XP.
Yes, the Spartan Ops XP give out IS broken, but the MP one is fine and is working as intended. Personally, if I have a stable connection or am just a little laggy then I play the whole time in Spartan Ops, but if my connection is piss poor and it takes a whole 5 seconds for my buttons to register to the game, then I idle.
Sorry, but I’ve tried to play on an extremely laggy connection and I just die the entire time 
if I didn’t lag to a certain extent then I wouldn’t idle after 10 kills

First off his service record is irrelevant, lots of people use service records not linked to their gamertags.
Secondly, they’re refering to the perfections in firefight for Halo Reach, NOT the perfection you’re refering to. If you had actually read the prior posts that would have been obvious.
Third, yeah he’s wrong because of his name. Great logic there Neo Morph… You’ve already admitted that it isn’t even a derogatory term where you live, yet you assume that he’s using it as a derogatory.
