I’ve seen so many threads asking for Infection to be added to Halo 5. But what’s the attraction of it? It’s not really a game type that I’ve really taken the time to play in other Halo games. To be honest, it’s not a game type I’m demanding to be added to Halo 5.
Why is Infection so popular and why are people demanding for its addition?
its a staple of numerous custom games, without i would say 60-70% of custom games arent the same, or are extremely limitited to how they can be played
I had started a similar thread yesterday. The answer I got had more to do with what you can do in custom games with the game type, not necessarily the game itself.

The same reason people want firefight. The players want casual, fun game types that aren’t just the same old team slayer or objective grind. We need a break and the unique game types like Infection offer that.
- This game needs some social playlists, like, now
- There are infinite possibilities with the new forge, scripting, and infection.
Just the other day, I saw a duck hunt map where the entire damn map was moving. It was glorious.
Because its a harsh and fun game type that can be entertaining and make you very mad at the same time

Halo Reach essentially perfected the casual matchmaking version of Infection in Alpha Zombies. Something about trying to stay alive with your buddies with a shotgun against super fast and scary sword wielding zombie Spartans is exhilarating. That coupled with the thrill of headshot insta kills with a limited magnum ammo supply makes for some fun, cheek squeezing moments. Especially when you are the last man standing with an overshield slaying a horde of zombies to the bitter end. It isn’t super balanced, it doesn’t revolve around equal starts, but you better damn well believe that it is great fun.
