Can I still 1v1 offline with my fiancé?
Can I change game options like move speed, damage modifiers, scoring options (like sticky kill gets +30), round time, and game type specific options (example: how many balls in oddball?)
Because of the lack of gametypes like VIP (used for racing games).
All the stuff you mentioned you can still do except the scoring options.

Can they bring this back in a patch, and here everyone thought they were catering to casuals. I think I played as many infection and custom games as I did multiplayer matchmaking.

There’s other stuff too. Flood can only have a Sword, Sprint can’t be disabled, no custom power-ups, etc.
The 343i Multiplayer director says on more than one occasion during the walk through of Forge maps on IGN “can’t wait to see what kind of race maps and gametypes the community comes up with , with the tool suite we have given them”. If these developers can see a way for race gametypes to happen in thier game and it came out of nowhere and surprised bungie, I think race is in , SOMEHOW.

That’s pretty much the main thing I see on the forums . So I guess that’s true , but there’s still some hope , in Reach , Alpha Zombies wasn’t there at launch , it came post launch so you never know , they may be bringing back the rest of the lost gametypes after , hopefully.

They have custom stuff in forge like the volumes that make ya cooler :). And ya there were too many people playing custom infection games. I always got booted cause no one liked me :’(. and what advantage do we have to disabling sprint. and you dont see features that let you disable zoom or crouch. it makes sense.

Ya. They will do something cool to make up for it atleast. I miss rocket race the halo 3 way those.

RACE IS GONE!? WTF!
You might be able to make a workable version of Race using the King of the Hill. It would be far from perfect though.
