Why are people playing with such low sensitivity?

Whenever i read people’s posts about there look sensitivity, a lot of players seem to use default or lower. Some even on setting 1!

i personally play on 10 with max acceleration. This still feels off to me. Not quite fast enough and generally a bit clunky. People tell me im crazy to use this. How could I possibly aim headshots they ask. Quite easily!
It may have to do with being a primary pc gamer for the past 5 years. It can be lovely and fast on there with perfect control

why is it unpopular? You get to see around your self quickly, can 2 or 3 vs 1 much easier. Strafing is better and aiming is faster.

Bonus discussion: how come Bumper Jumper is less popular these days? Used to be the only real option if you didnt claw.

I’m primarily a pc gamer but I use 3 to 4. Different speeds just feels right to some people. For example, I use the default controls and still usually play as good as or better than other players.

I have mine set at 2.

There is nothing “unpopular” with your personal sensitivity settings that you feel comfortable with. It is just that comfort, it has nothing to do with popularity. I’ve had to decrease mine over the years due to age.

I suppose. It seems like there is an inate advantage to higher look speeds though, so long as you can comfortably control it or it would be a disadvantage.

With BJ, it feels right. Taking thumb off the stick to jump or melee seems like an awful layout to me. Jump strafing was murdered by 343 but it still makes a difference. I think it should be default. Never understood why jumps and action buttons were always mapped in such a way on console games by default.

It gives me a head-ache. Also, it’s difficult to enjoy the devs creations when you look too fast. Finally, you are more likely to see enemy players if you take your time.

I have been playing on a 1 sensitivity since halo 3. Just works for me best. I used to switch to a 3 during SWAT, but i don’t even do that anymore

It’s all preference based op. Too many variables to be one size fits all.

Troll likely hides his stats, moving along.

How the hell do you deal with a height advantage? Or close combat?

you must just have a very different playstyle to accomedate it. If they get close you would be done for.

Your answer

OP can you post on your main account so we can see your accuracy stats and headshots? I’m generally curious.

I play on 2 and 5 accel, works for me just fine. To answer your question most pros play on low sens because Halo 5 has little auto aim, fast mo ement, and small hitboxes, so it’s better to use a low sens.

?

never played 5 multiplayer outside the beta. Hated it. Playing campaign with a friend atm.

You are one of these cliche “it is a troll” people because someone plays different, and you cant understand how some vould dislike what you like.

News. I am just interested. I have only my own frame of reference. How else am i going to know why others enjoy playing on 1? Pure curiosity.

Does it really matter? Why everyone judging all personally? Its just a general discussion on look sensitivity.

this is my main. I never played a single game
of 5 outside beta. Cant stand 343s halo. Playing campaing with a friend right now using gameshare.

thanks for explaining. I think there must be a happy medium. Looking at setting 1 is just as disadvatagious as 10 in theory.

Meh 7 feels just right to me not slow but not so fast I overshoot my target.

height advantage doesn’t bother me in the least. Close combat is really to the point of knowing what the person will do and anticipating their movements. I don’t see myself losing any more of these encounters than i should

that could be part of the difference too. campaign is a little more forgiving than multiplayer is, especially co-op campaign.

honestly i can go between 2 and eight depending on the day(and sometimes drunkenness) idky most people either stick to a number or small range but around 6 usually feels best to me because i can still tell where i am at close range without spinning around so fast i fly away like a helicopter

Does the look sensitivity actually make you spin faster or does it just mean that you need to move the stick less to move at full speed?

Bonus discussion answer: A lot of people now use Scuf controllers or Xbox Elite controllers that allow button mapping to the back paddles of the controller. Therefor, eliminating the need to HAVE to use Bumper Jumper. I rock Recon where melee is B button and jump is A button but those are also mapped to my back paddles so I do not have to remove my thumbs from the sticks what-so-ever.

I used 7 for a really long time, but I had to bring it down to 5 or 6 for halo 5
