Oh boy, people are being so pessimistic it’s not even funny. Seriously, a lot of folks here keep saying that Forge being free is a dirty move, and that it’s just cut content. Okay, I get your logic: they cut it out at launch to finish it up so it can work this month. But why are people still complaining? What do you want? A Forge that costs $9.99? No, you’d complain about that. Forge not coming out at all? No, you’d still complain. Forge being there at launch, which would cause it to be broken? No, you’d still complain. Forge to be free? No, you’re comp—
Yeah, see where I’m going with this? The best option was to add a working Forge later on for free. Oh, you don’t like that? Okay, tell me what you want.
People are really desperate to make Halo 5 look bad, aren’t they?
It’s because people are butthurt and have nothing better to complain about. It’s to the point where people dont even think about what would happen if they got what they wanted. they just complain to complain. It’s annoying and is ruining halo forums
People think 343 is purposely delaying forge launch. There is literally no reason to delay a free update other than it wasn’t ready for the game’s launch.
I’m honestly beginning to suspect that a portion of the Halo audience actually loves complaining about everything Halo more than they ever enjoyed playing any of the games.
I think it’s mostly that it wasn’t there on launch.
Personally I would have been fine waiting another month or two and having all the ‘free DLC’ come with the game like it should have but that’s just me.

I wholeheartedly agree. Forge is one thing that I can wait out, but I wish we had more game-types at launch. Hopefully we’ll get some cool ones with the social playlist being added this month.

Apparently, these people like to spend money, or they think, Forge has been cut out from launch, it is true, but they needed to make changes to it, I’m not complaining, free content just makes Halo 5 a better game, and with forge being a essential part of Halo multiplayer for years, I got nothing to lose, so many Halo multiplayer maps in the years were made with forge, and if they make us pay for it, many people probably wont have forge made multiplayer maps.
Therefore I agree with you, Free Forge = more fun, but apparently some people don’t like “fun”

I did and you obviously haven’t read other peoples posts about it.
Not being able to make threads complaining about complaining is practically an unwritten forum rule now.
-Yoinking!- seriously? People aren’t complaining about free forge as much as they are about you people shouting “SEE IT’S FREE! WE’RE GETTING A GOOD DEAL!”. Of course it’s free, it would be unacceptable if it wasn’t free. Being free doesn’t -Yoinking!- mean anything, yet you all keep praising 343I as if it’s somehow some great thing that it’s free.
TLDR: Making Forge Free = Good. Advertising it as “Free” = Dirty
Or I guess to put it another way:
> It irks me even more that they’re calling it a ‘gift’ as well, like they’re doing me a favour. Dude I bought the game expecting to have it a month and a half ago.

I really don’t understand this sentiment. You would prefer that the entire game be delayed than they adopt a staggered content release model, because…? Change is bad? Alternatively, just buy the game once the content you wanted is in the game? Seriously. What is the point of this? I think it would be perfectly reasonable to wait on buying the game until forge is out if that’s your preference, but how would you or anyone else benefit in the slightest from pushing everything to that later date?
More robust internet and digital distribution allows developers to push out more significant content more quickly after launch. They don’t have to be reliant on what makes it to disc by the manufacture date and whatever gets done in the day one patch. The result of that is less scrapped content and easier long term support after launch. The alternative would likely be less content in the long run that works worse at launch. I don’t see that as an improvement.

Well then, you’re obviously ignoring my argument just so you can feel justified. You’re not even explaining your side, just: “Nope, you’re wrong and I’m right.” Tell me what you would do then in 343’s position, because by the looks of it, nothing has been made clear.
I don’t think anyone is complaining about them adding it to the game ‘free’.
People are upset because they think it should have been there from the beginning.
It irks me even more that they’re calling it a ‘gift’ as well, like they’re doing me a favour. Dude I bought the game expecting to have it a month and a half ago.

Then what’s the point of complaining about it being free if it’s literally the best option? I’m not kidding; I genuinely want to know what you think about when you have to go against 343’s decision with making Forge, something that most developers would charge you for.
