Why are people complaining about earning vs rng.

They both take a long time to get through so I dont know why people are -Yoinking!-. I know most people dont have my armor set that I put a lot of hours in to get to.

Because one is something that must be accomplished while the other is a form of insidious yet legal gambling that reflects nothing but an incredibly lucky press of a button?

Go to the Destiny Forums. I’m sure they’d be glad to explain why Earning v. RNG is an argument that will forever remain unsolved.

This, I’d rather grind for something and know that’s it’s a going towards a for sure unlock

It really depends on your luck with RNG. Say that you were aiming for a certain set piece of Ultra Rare/Legendary/Mythic armor for a few weeks and saw that someone else got it on their first few Gold Packs/Warzone packs. You’d probably end up with so much salt and vinegar, I could dip a full Pringles chip in.

Armour means less due to rng. Plus if you want a certain piece badly, im after a particular helmet that is legendary, it can suck hard that there is no way to get it but to grind and wait.

Yet that same set could be earned by some spending $3 because of RNG.

I want to pick a path of choice not random luck of what I get to use.

I already plan to put a few hundred hours in and unlock everything, so it makes no difference to me. In fact, not being able to unlock exactly what I want right away is leading to a lot more variety in my spartan and everyone else’s, which is cool.

But there are so many armor sets, and so many that are just kind of weird and boring. People want to save up/buy exactly what they want right away.

I like this system fine, though.

I haven’t seen anyone with my helmet or armor. I spent about $100 and 3.5 days playtime to get that lmao. But really I got it in my first 50 or so gold packs.

dude, OP, your Spartan looks funny AF in your thumbnail looool

Or not, because RNG. No one, regardless of how they purchase REQ packs, is going to get all the Mythic Armor without spending either several hundred hours of Warzone, or spending ~$1000 on Gold Packs.

REQ packs are random, that’s why.

It’s like trying to find your perfect character and/or weapon in Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer. The same, frustrating grind.

With actual in-game challenges or armor purchasing like in Reach, you can work towards a specific goal. With RNG microtransaction packs you have to get lucky sooner or later. It’s -Blam!-ing dumb as hell.
