Why am I getting matched with low diamonds who go -10 or -15 when I am a champ? It is just making me derank.

Due to the low population count champions (who are just onyxs) have to match with diamond players to even get games.
Also it is early in the season so lots of champs (not necessarily you) are just the first 200 people to get onyx and are actually low onyx in skill level instead of champion. It makes sense that low onyx players would be able to match with and against low diamonds.
Finally those players will not make you derank a considerable amount. Due to the way the ranking system works individual performance is a factor and you usually stay around your MMR or actual skill. If you are actually losing significant amounts of CSR (more than 100) then your rank was probably inflated.
As a high plat to low/mid diamond player, I have been matching with a number of champ/onyx players. Must be lower population or playing on off hours.
I just watched a match with one team having 3 unranked players and one diamond 1 player. The other team was stacked with champs… Team 1 won and the Diamond 1 player played out of his mind. Champ means nothing with true skill 2.
They have the skill of champs, I have slapped every champ that has tried to 1v1 me
