I struggle to best the legs dary AI in Halo Wars 1. They’re what I call, mega powerful.
After playing Halo Wars 2 offline and gettinh comfortable using every leader, I’ve had a 95% success rate against the lengedary AI. Why is this? I’m proud to beat the legendary AI but, what’s the go? Am I too smart? Is the AI too dumb? Why do I not feel threatened?
In retaliation to the Legendary AI that I always defeat, whether 1v1 - 3v3, I decided to challenge myself against two AIs on my own. (Yes, unbalanced but who cares).
Both AIs were on easy and the first few times I was only “just” beaten by them. Tonight, I decided to fight two opponents by myself again.
Tonight, we all played as Atriox. I defeated two AIs by myself from Easy, to Normal, and now I only just beat two AI on Heroic.
What are the chances I’ll beat two legendary AI by myself?

It was a problem for me in heroic. But in legendary it was hardly an issue.

Really? Weird. When I played legendary, it seemed to be beaming me down whenever it got the chance.
In Halo Wars 1 the AI received stat modifications based on how much the difficulty was turned up.
I am not sure if this is the case here. Possibly that could be why its easier for you here? In the first game the AI not only played more aggressive, but their units were straight up stronger.

Just split forces, so that the amount of units you have to replace is smaller.
It is quite the opposite. Legendary AI’s in Halo Wars 1 were easy. Every game I played which was several hundred, they rushed. It got boring for me because it was so predictable.
AI’s on Halo Wars 2 also come pretty fast, but they’re tough to beat.

Its good that the AI’s units are not illogically stronger than yours in Halo Wars 2, even on Legendary
(Stupid how they do that in Halo 5 and Warzone)
That doesn’t explain why someone with not much experience can easily beat Legendary AI though

Yup. Playing against a Automatic(178) AI in HW1 was a total nightmare.

Yeah, depending on the hero and map, the AI chooses different tactics.
Sometimes it’ll choose to hard rush you, while other times it decides to tech up. Usually it decides to focus on one type of unit/attack, such as going for vehicles only, air only, or infantry rush.
Personally I don’t really like this behavior, because its unpredictable but uncontrollable.
For example. Sometimes the AI will rush me and absolutely destroy me right at the start of the game. So I decide to change up my tactics and it pushes me to play better…to which the AI in the next game responds with a really slow, easy match instead.
And generally speaking, from my experience, all of the rush tactics the AI uses are much harder, and any time it tries to turtle up or tech up for slower games, it’s incredibly easy to win. The gap in behaviors and difficulties is too wide, and you never know what you’re going to get.
It would be okay if it was random behavior, but they were all equally hard. RNG whether you’ll get a easy or a hard match kinda sucks…unless it is entirely hero specific (I only play against random AI leaders, so I wouldn’t know).
I agree the ai is way to easy, when I can play an hour and a half long game and fight 3 legendary AI’s by myself and beat them all only losing a total of 30 units without using any super units, there’s something wrong. Really though, 1v3 on the highest difficulty, and it’s still a walk in the park.
