Honestly, all maps feel and look like they could be in HWC. Not saying it’s super terrible but not everyone enjoys and wants to play those kinds of maps all the time. Before you say “go play BTB” I do… A lot but there gets a time where I just want to play fun 4v4.
So for example, where is…
High grounds?
Last resort?
Narrows?
Power house?
Countdown?
Boardwalk?
Abandon?
You our get the idea. We have enough that are small, close counters quick maps. Let’s start expanding into the maps that won’t take 10 seconds to carry a flag to home. Maps that won’t need you to worry about being over run when you spawn. Maps that have vehicles on it. Anyone else hungry for these types of maps?
I’m hungry for more colourful maps like Plaza. The lighting was just beautiful there. The other maps are just bland and dull to look at. Nothing exactly interesting about them.
A map’s appearance is just as important to me as the design and how they play.

At the risk of ruining the experience of causal gamers which make up most of the community? Sounds like a poor business decision. 343i should have balanced the gameplay for both types of players

Well the casual players have had Halo Reach through MCC… so essentially three entire games in a row cater to them. Give us fans of competitive play a game for once. The casual stuff has been and is being added.

Most of the competitive community don’t like the maps. Majority of them in this game don’t play well, expect for Coliseum.
Because the vocal minority -Yoinked!- and moaned that Halo wasn’t competitive enough, so they listened only to the hardcore crowd and made Halo 5 overly “e-sports” and totally cut out all of the fun social aspects that the fans ACTUALLY love about the game.
Most of the pros hate these tiny terrible power ridden maps just like the rest of us, seriously over half the maps are fought on tight narrow walkways, do we really need another map thats a series of walkways to a power weapon?. My two greatest complaints for this game are 1. the terrible maps, seriously the worst and 2. the delayed radar that only works when it wants to, it introduces a lot of randomness into close quarters battles which is encouraged with such tiny hallways and choke points.

-Yoinking!- about a too weak competitive focus = vocal minority
-Yoinking!- about a too weak social focus =/= vocal minority
but since you capitalized “actually” you have to be right I guess

Not even Truth? In my opinion, that map is the only good map in a sea of really bad maps.

It’s good, but it’s stretched out so much because of sprint.

Weird, I thought everyone was entitled to an opinion.
Whether my opinion is correct or not, clearly they missed the mark with the focus of this game. The casual fans think its to competitive and the MLG fans think its a horrible game. Stripping down all of the social parts of Halo and gutting out all of the custom game types clearly was a major mistake, you know the things that “actually” matter in Halo. The “fun” that was wrung right from the very essence of the game, also yeah the competitive crowd is the minority. I’m fairly certain vast majority of Halo players are kids, teens and adults who hop on Xbox to play a few rounds and have fun, the ones who are to busy playing the games to complain online about how “casual” Halo has become and how sprint is cancer.

Yesssss. You like the “attack/defend” type maps too?
