I play with randoms, otherwise I play with friends that I know (friends, classmates, etc) and they are all worse than me in Halo Reach. I’m not a fan of partying up with exceptional players because not only is that boosting, but where’s the challenge?
So yeah, I play with randoms (whom, for the most part, are a gamble, with shotty odds) and friends who range from below 1.0 k/d to just above it. Well, I usually finish most Rumble Pit, Slayer, Swat, Snipers, etc at around a 1.8 to a +2.0, and a +3.0-4.0 in BTB, Multiteam, and Invasion…
But when it comes to MLG…I hover right around a 1.0, mostly a little less, and most entirely on the losing side. Are there any tips? And btw, most of the randoms I play with in MLG never talk, are in party chat, or muted…And for a additional btw, the no radar in MLG doesn’t bother me.
Its a different game then Reach, I would think playing Halo 3 then Reach MLG would be a more natural progression then from any playlist in Reach to MLG.
If you wish to be better at MLG, focus on its gameplay and start FR people you play with in that playlist that you do well with, you should be able to pick up about .25 positive K/D in a month or two in that playlist no problem.
It’s because the players in the other playlists are incredibly bad. I used to think bloom was working fine, but then I found out I was winning because my opponents can’t aim for their lives.

lmao
So I guess the other halo games are not halo in that logic…

Lol.
OP the majority of really good players stick to MLG. Combine that with our piss poor ranking system and well…
Most people I know do much more poorly in MLG…NOT because of the settings(although they are more competitive) but because of the reasons I mentioned.

Every single good MLG player is good at all playlist.
There is no reason to create the illusion of superiority because you enjoy something different. You would lose to them in default or MLG. The only difference is you might get an extra kill in default do to random elements/your crutches.
Also MLG is closer to traditional halo so you derped up pretty good didn’t you?
Maybe it is the settings? Since they are using Zero Bloom, coupled with faster movement speed makes it a bit harder to aim. Could be because you don’t really have teamwork with randoms, and there is nothing stopping you from matching a full party of legitimate pros that actually play and win events. Sorry, but that is just how Reach is.

Well then, all that proves is that twitch aiming skill is still dominant in Reach above all else just like every other Halo game, contrary to what they would have us believe. And yet MLG peeps still feel the need to wall themselves into one ordained, gameplay-stunted playlist and denounce everyone else as casuals. Where does the illusion of superiority really lie, I wonder?

Map setups, teamwork, and powerup timing = twitch aiming.
You really love using obscure words nobody knows the meaning of, don’t you? Are you that guy who constantly uses big words on purpose to sound smart?
Wut? Words over 3 syllables are big now? Didnt get that memo.
Twitch aiming = insane noscopes, DMR work and the like. Thats one thing I cant fault MLG peeps for, those fine motor skills and reaction times are out of this world. And they are still the dominant deciding factor in this game.

You know very little about Halo. “twitch aiming” is a weak attempt to summarize “better than me”. Not only is it fallacious to wrap all the skills of MLG(or even Halo) into twitching, but you clearly come off as bitter towards better players. The truth is I am better because I am smarter. I know more about Halo, even broken Halo :Reach. I can perform just as well with or without TU. I just prefer TU. You give us equal aiming or “twitching” skill and I would still dominate because of my advanced understanding of the game.

Noscopes happen very rarely, believe it or not.
But you said it yourself, all MLG is twitch aiming. I guess that just includes map control, weapon timing, and teamwork.

I actually went to a event last year. You have no idea what the hell you are talking about.
Amazing team work is better then just pure twitch Aiming.
Story time.
Was watching some AM Players play against each other, One guy was like. Lol You guys are bad but his team was less then stellar… Guess what they lost all 3 games. Pure twitch aim skill will not win you any games in MLG.
because MLG is is full of try hard arranged parties, this can happen in any playlist, for example, have you ever played against a full party in Invasion? It’s -Yoinking!- limited, since the spawns are all fixed for the first stage.
