For the last 5 games I’ve played of Halo reach matchmaking, I have been unable to finish them because I keep disconnecting from my xbox live party and the game.
I know this is not a problem with my router because when I get lagged out of the games (everyone leaves then I get banned for “quitting”) I never get disconnected from xbox live. And my phone wifi/laptop wifi still works.
I’ve even reset my router and this problem is still occuring. It’s making me lose games when I’m about to win. Is someone targetting me? How can I stop this from happening. I’m just trying to have fun on xbox live.
script kiddies are wastes of -Yoink!-.
If you are not being disconnected from Xbox Live, and your phone/wifi still work, then you are not being DDOS’d. When you get DDOS’d you lose complete connection to the internet and nothing works until the attack stops or you get a new IP address. The person who is doing the DDOSing needs your IP address to do the attack, so if you are resetting your router you will get a new IP address each time (unless you have a static IP that never changes). Having a new IP address means the attacker can’t kick you offline without first being connected to you in some way, whether it be in game or party chat…
To me this doesn’t sound like a DDOS attack, it sounds like a problem with either your internet connection, possibly a faulty network adapter in your console or issues with the Halo Reach server.
