Was playing halo and the next day i login and wham… Banned and console baned and profiles banned from credit owing. i have no reason why i was not boosting or cheating or being rude. Just playing and now im banned and console banned. Someone plz tell me why and how long it will take. I just got the account like one month ago and i cant use it now its not right.
Looking at your Game History, it would seem that you were caught for AFKing.
(The automated banhammer can’t tell what you’re actually doing in-game. All it can do is make guesses based on your stats at the end of a match. If you get 0 kills in a Firefight or Slayer match, the banhammer assumes that you were AFKing during that match.)
Note that credit bans are temporary. If I’m remembering correctly, the first is 24 hours, the second is 1 week, and the third is 2 weeks.
The relevant matches:
Alpha Zombies on Bedlam
SWAT Magnums on Reflection
SWAT on Arena Zealot
SWAT on Sword Base
TU FFA Elite Slayer on Arena Zealot
TU FFA Slayer Pro on Pinnacle
TU FFA Slayer Pro on Countdown
AFKing doesn’t usually warrant a console ban though, does it? I thought that was reserved for mods and hackers.
Pretty sure this is the wrong place for this… isn’t there like a whole thread or portion of the forums for people trying to figure out why they are banned?
> AFKing doesn’t usually warrant a console ban though, does it? I thought that was reserved for mods and hackers.
It does if you do it enough.
> AFKing doesn’t usually warrant a console ban though, does it? I thought that was reserved for mods and hackers.
It doesn’t usually warrant a full-on console ban from Matchmaking.
Credit bans, however, are always console-wide.
You deserve to be banned if you are caught afking as often as it seems the OP has. Never should afk in several matchmaking games in such a close timeframe, otherwise it will seem that you are just credit -Yoink!- and not willing to help your teammates make any progress.

How do you know that the OP was AFKing?
All we know is that they got zero kills in a large number of games, and while that can be explained by AFKing, there are also plenty of innocent explanations. For example, someone could get an AFK ban if they let a very inexperienced individual play Matchmaking on their account (even if that individual plays as a guest).
When one’s judgments are by necessity based on raw guesswork, it’s never a good idea to make them so quickly.
thank u for ur fedback. Now what im hearing is if im playing halo and let my 6 yr old son play cuz he loves the game and doesnt kill anyone then i am afking and get banned cuz a 6 yr old isnt good enough to play with everyone. Or my wife who has never played before plays and gets 0 kills and banned. There has to be a way they can play without getting a consol and account ban. Cuz u pay for a account to play and now im banned for letting my family play. Plz help. and how long is the ban for consol and account. thank u again.
sorry and just read that even if they are quest we get banned so i have to tell my family that they cant play halo anymore cuz there not good enough and halo doesnt like people who are as bad as them so they banned them. My 6 yr old son will love that telling him he is not good enough to play with people.

That’s taking everything a little to serious. There is still campaign your son can play, Normal firefight. Heck he can even go play customs with other people if you can get a group.

That’s kind of in a way rude really. 343 has no way of knowing if your son was the one playing you if you just set the controller down and tried to do nothing for credits. It’s your word and game overviews that are the evidence, not much of a valid argument. None of us were really in the game so we can’t exactly know if you were moving and shooting at the opponets or just standing there. Judging from your game overviews you haven’t even gotten one assist in four games. If some kid was even playing I’m sure you’d have at least a few. Kids do know how to shoot at that enemy on the screen.
I’m not saying you didn’t let the kid or your wife play. Just it’s kind of not easy to show. Heck, I let my own family play on my account at times too. Though never have I gotten a ban. Of course they are able to kill people in a swat match or even zombies. shrugs As I said, Throw your wife or son into a custom game, campaign, or even firefight and don’t worry anymore. Custom games still give that edge against other players they might want. If worst comes to worst, Give your son another game to play he might like.
yea that is a good point and yes but when im playing and he wants to play i let him and as for getting kills no he can kill his team does not really understand and i am showing him he likes to talk to the players online thats his big thin all i want is to know how long is my ban i never got a 24 hr its just banned and i dont know for how long its been 5 days and not sure if its a week or 2 or what.

If it has been five days, expect a 1-2 week wait.

you can always have them play firefight or campaign. But as for PvP not such a great idea for them or the team until they get better. For players like myself and many others we cannot stand players that cannot get kills or go afk on us match after match. It’s worse than quitters because they are just feeding kills to the enemy. It also gives the impression they are trying to lose on purpose by trolling the team or trying to derank like you could in Halo 3.
I have no sympathy here really and don’t have to. Halo in the PvP realm is competitive by nature and if players cannot hold their own or are not performing up to par because they are afking a ton they won’t be in there long. Going afk or any emulation of afking will be auto banned by the system.
It doesnt seem much like guesswork if a player goes several games with 0 kills and 0 assists as well then I would rather believe that person was AFKing, instead of the even worse possibilities such as betrayals. The OP has come out and claimed it has been his 6 year old child, wife, were playing on his console and says his child can only kill their team mates? A young child shouldnt be put into Multiplayer Matchmaking if they dont have full understanding of the game. If you want them to be able to play online then put them into Campaign or Firefight, this allows them to learn the mechanics of the game and keep their team mates from suffering from betrayals and such as well. Other players, as well as the Banhammer cant tell whether a adult or a 6 year old child is playing the game, this causes your account to recieve complaints as well as bans, sometimes suddenly or permanently.
Looking at your has game history shown me that this is a ongoing occurence, I do however hope this ban teaches you something and that you change what it is that seems to be the issue, good luck.

Now, i’ve been playing halo since a young age, but that was campaign… I’m not sure its necessarily ok to let someone so young to play online, ifnact the game at all.
I’m not trying to tell you that you can’t, but there is a chance it can psycologically scar your sun…
The ban is unfortuneate, but not uncalled for.
the ban’ll be gone in a couple of weeks.
simply put. dont start a game if you’re not gonna be there to play.
