Why am I always carrying my teammates?

Ever since this game came out, the thing that annoys me the MOST is not ordnance or flinch or sprint or any of those other things, it’s my teammates.

I normally play BTB because I’m a vehicle kinda guy and I enjoy it the most. I also play alone all the time because most of my friends are either forging (I’m part of a forging clan) or playing a different game. I also live in New Zealand so I’m normally on when my friends are asleep.

Because of all this 7 out of 10 games I join are a JIP, already starting me off on (more often than not) the losing team, which I try bring back as much as possible, but still inevitability lose. So I lose the JIP game, but I’m not too bothered so I stay in the post game lobby to avoid getting JIP’ed again.

This is where I start to get annoyed. I always, always, ALWAYS seem to get put on the team that absolutely sucks. I will lose probably 70% of the matches I play and of those roughly 95% of the time it’s my teammates that completely let me down. I can play as good as I want, but I still have horrible teammates that weigh me down.

Another problem is probably 33% of the matches I play, I get put into a lobby of two teams with roughly 6 or 7 players each, and I end up filling in the leftover gaps. Again I am always put on the lesser skilled team meaning now I have to try win a game with all my teammates doing terribly AND A highly skilled coordinated enemy team all using Mics.

I’ve been thinking about posting this for a while, but haven’t because I kept hoping my teammates would get better eventually, but after my last few matches I had, I needed to get this off my chest.

Two out of the three last games I just played, I lost entirely because of my teammates. Here is a link to the post game stats here.

As you can see just from these two examples of how my teammates let me down.

Am I the only one with this problem here? Do you have the same problems I do?

I’m curious to see anyone else is having this problem at all (consistently getting 9th place in post game stats) and if anyone knows how to fix this other than “get a team” or “don’t play BTB” because that’s not helpful advice at all.

Just on a side note I have a CSR 50 (wouldn’t be that high if it was based on win/loss) and I was wondering if maybe that’s effecting me at all putting me on terrible teams.

The matching system is terrible. I am a 41 in SWAT bouncing between 40-45 yet am still getting placed with team mates that are yet to surpass even a CSR of 10. In one game I was put on a team with a CSR 1 and 2 guests, of which 2 went AFK.

The reason I am bouncing between 40-45 is because of the matching system. I can’t seem to find a lobby where anybody is higher than a 35 :L I may go 40-10 in a game but because my opponents are so low in CSR, I rank down. Then I loose the game because my teammates contribute about 12 kills in total per game -___-. I swear I have only seen 10 people higher than a 40 since the CSR came out (been around 40 since it came out…).

For me at least its not about JIP or any of the matchmaking systems, it’s more about getting players on your team with mics. Even if you are destined to have a crapola teammate at least you can give them directions/tips. Things like calling out, which have nothing to do with the mechanics, helps to further cooperation immensely.

Low pop means true skill matching isn’t working right.

The ranking systems in all Halo games were/are loose and inconsistent especially during periods of low population in whatever playlist you happen to be playing.

Halo 4 seems to have a higher turnover of players so maybe players were/are getting burnt out on it quickly before the ranking system (if it really works) can take affect so you’re given very loose skill matches from the available small pool.

The JIP system has made playing in less than a full group a very unpleasant and inconsistent experience, often you’ll be thorwn into a match where your team is loosing on a really lousy international host and the resulting loss will cause your CSR to go down.

Most good to excellent people play in fullteams to mitigate the above and avoid being on the same team as randoms who AFC, betray and grief.

Full groups with far higher average skill and commincation/teamwork often stomp on far lower skilled, random players who don’t have mics and/or aren’t using communication/teamwork.

I’d recommend adding people you meet in matchmaking that are geographically close to you and playing with them so you reduce the chance of the issues listed above.

this all day.

Maybe because this entire game is social? Try inviting some people to search with. Whining about it won’t solve anything. Actually, you making a topic like this makes me not want to play with you. Ever.

Hey, I totally feel your pain. I think the things you said you don’t want to hear are pretty much your only options. ?: Do you play slayer? Do you have map packs? Do you vote Infinity. You have a good K/D and I’m always looking to add good players, so friend me on live if you answered yes to all those questions. I don’t really play BT unless I have a full party.

hands you club invite and jacket

yeh, i feel ya… i managed to get to a 47 (FORTY-YOINK-SEVEN) on my own in BTS… the amount of carrying i did… i felt like changing my GT to ‘thecarrierbag’ since its all i ever did, though, now i play flood that problem is gone…

I hate teammates, I’m getting to the point of just playing ffa all the time because people don’t know how to play a game right. One point I decide to try reach again to see if the teammates there were any better then halo 4 teammates, the result was reach having even worst teammates then halo 4, they don’t listen at all, everytime someone quiets and with no jip there’s no one to replace him and costent spawn camping.(that’s just what I experience anyways) I can barely can stand multiplayer in general anymore -_-

> Low pop means true skill matching isn’t working right.

Exactly. There aren’t enough people online to properly match people based on their actual skills.

Been experiencing this for a long time. You are not alone. Most matches for me come down to trying to win faster than my teammates can lose. It’s very frustrating.

I think the population is a part of the problem, but I think the matchmaking system is also seriously flawed. It also makes bad host decisions and blatantly imbalanced CSR matches.

If you can’t get to a 50 in SWAT in halo 4 that is your own fault.

You can only go up if you are matched with someone your rank or higher. Easy to get stuck with a low pop.
