Why all the Radio Silence?

This radio silence we’ve had for 4 and half years is just continuing, if 343i was more upfront with things I would maybe trust them more (I dont anyways, since they’ve always been radio silent with these games of theirs), but they’re not. It’s all quiet and under the radar, that doesn’t build a community.

Yeah, it’s a bit odd that they’ve gone back to radio silence again. We’re like less than 4 months away until release. Now that they’ve finally shown off footage, they really need to kick the hype and marketing into gear. No more radio silence 343.

Guys it has been days since they released a brand new trailer. I get that it might not have looked how you wanted it to but be patient. I’m fairly confident that they have been caught a little off guard by a section of the community response. And the last thing they want to do is release more that could upset fans further or say something that isn’t super well thought out because many people would jump all over that as well. Give it a min.

Don’t forget that Infinite isn’t the only Halo game releasing in the rest of the year. The campaign info last week is probably all the Infinite news we’re getting until the next Xbox event (my guess is August 27th because Xbox is a partner for digital Gamescom).

We’re getting close to the end of the month which means a MCC development blog post. Perhaps we’ll get more info on ODST flighting.

Honestly i don’t think that halo infinite will be successful not because of the game play or graphics but because of the complete lack of a marketing campaign. At this point in all the other halo games we had a large marketing campaign like hunt the truth or believe.

Being quiet isn’t helping anything.

The quality of the demo we just saw gives us the answer: they didn’t have anything ready to show us.
It’s as if they somehow managed to spend the bulk of the last 5 years working on the game’s engine but not creating the actual game assets and content until pretty recently

I hope that they are able to do a multiplayer reveal and demo release in August with an announcement coming sooner rather than later, because as others have stated above, we are less than 4 months from release and have barely seen anything from the game. Keep in mind that Halo 5 had a multiplayer beta nearly a year prior to launch and the entire Hunt the Truth campaign (even though we know how that turned out). Communication definitely needs a big improvement, and fast.

I have a feeling they don’t want anyone to actually play it as there doesn’t seem to be a demo for it now. Cause I think they know it’s going to make both sides mad. So they want you going in blind.

Not sure if you’ve seen this, because I hadn’t until yesterday, but this is why I was talking about a demo: Xbox Series X Teases MORE in Games Showcase Interview w/ Major Nelson | Xbox Exclusive Game Trailers - YouTube

I remember how Bungie somehow managed to constantly drip feed information at a very slow, yet satisfying pace for Halo 3 and Halo: Reach, with the occasional big reveal of a gametype or weapon they have been working on. Compare this to 343i where it is like they are embarrassed about what they are making. I am getting some serious Evolve, Destiny, Sea of Thieves, and Anthem vibes now. This has red flags and bad news written on the walls.

Yes, but one verbal misstep and this community will be up in arms. Look I’ve had my laundry list of issues with 343 too but I feel like everything has been an absolute outrage in this community since the release of reach. Can you honestly say that none of the response since the trailer has been epic overreaction? The people that work on this are real humans trying to give a diverse community what it wants even when those wants are in conflict with each other. And so many parts of this community have become total karens when they don’t get what they want. To be clear I’m not calling anyone in this thread a Karen but guys give it a WEEK.

Due to Infinite being a launch title I think 343 is having to adjust their marketing to fit with Xbox’s. They probably have a schedule in place and are going to stick with it, or silently adjust it slightly. They might be waiting for Sony to share their hand and try to do a counter.

I agree, its only been a week. In terms of marketing, there have been more toy announcements, trailers showing up between every other video on youtube, etc. I’m not expecting anything consistent from 343 until end of August when we will probably get a price/date on the series X (and its lesser model). Once we get to pre-order XSX, we’ll most likely get to pre-order Halo Infinite. Once the ability to buy the game becomes a thing, I would imagine marketing will follow in full force.

The silence is most likely having to do with Xbox’s marketing, they probably want to do a bunch of big revels regarding the both of them, we just will have to wait and see unfortunately

They aren’t in good shape and they know it. Sounds like they’ve had plenty of development woes and it sounds like 343 as a whole isn’t in the best of places. I’ve heard rumors they’ve pulled talent from other studios to assist in the scramble of development. Personally, I think Microsoft needs to abandon Infinite launching with the console and push it out another 6-12 months if not indefinitely until ready.
If Halo flops, especially as a launch title, Xbox losses all momentum they’ve tried to build.

That “showcase” last Thursday effectively killed all hype and excitement I had for the franchise.
