Why all the hate for Sarah Palmer?

She doesn’t even play a major role in the campaign. She says, what, 2 lines and makes 2 appearances? And in spartan ops, she was just directing the you to objectives making nitty witty comments about the covenant or prometheans. I personally think they should add more personality to her then just a director for the spartan IV’s.

As Halsey said, she treats every mission like a “live fire War Game”.

She acts like a child. I personally like her but meh.

I for 1 thing she’s kinda hot & we don’t see enough of her haha

I can give you a long story, but here is the short one.

Bad character development.

Roland and Miller did this too, not just her.

Also, instead of “nitty witty” comments, serious attitudes toward a mission with palmer would bring out her character more. She seems like a type of person who would be more serious.

because the word egghead it makes me sick im not joking.

Send me a PM about it. I’d like this topic not to be locked but also hear the communities opinions.

Roland and Miller do her job MUCH better, and she hares Halsey for no established reason, she uses the excuse “orders are orders” to go kill Halsey but when told to arrest Chief she’s like no, she shoots Halsey, I could go on

My reason for disliking her? Simple.

“I thought you’d be taller.”

Lady. Do you know who you’re talking to? That’s Master Chief, he’s been through more in his career than you ever will in your entire life. He’s saved countless lives, ensured the safety of our species and essentially saved all life in the Galaxy.

You need to be on your -Yoink- knees worshipping this man. Not cracking wise about his height. Not only is that disrespectful but incredibly unprofessional since she’s supposed to be some kind of commander.

Oh, you were an ODST and your backstory was tough? -Yoink-, you ever been attacked by hundreds of Flood Infection Forms? Taken down an army of Covenant Elites? Assassinated a Prophet and stopped the activation of a Halo ring? Hell no! So keep your big mouth shut and do your job which is to command those sorry excuses for Spartans.

Halsey had it right.

“First, we taught them to be silent. Then we taught them how to be Spartans.”

She’s just unbearably unlikable. I’d take Dare’s company over her’s and she looks like Cruella DeVil.

She’s also incredibly redundant. What has she done, I mean what has she REALLY done? Miller the job better than her and at least I enjoy listening to him talking to me. He sounds unsure yet confident but Palmer? Cocky, cocky woman.

Sorry for going off on a bit of a rant here, but that’s how I really see her. She’s a huge annoyance.

I completely agree. The best part of her first line though is that the chief is presumed dead before this as well. So she is literally watching a ghost walk out of the fire, saving their lives, and she says she thought he’d be taller, really?

A lot of people just can’t stand a bossy person with lady bits.

Yeah I think the same. I really want to kill that -YOINK-

She’s a horribly written character with a really annoying voice. That is all.

Bad character development in Halo 4. Overbearing attitude. VA is somewhat annoying but more so because she could be a little less SHOUTY IN YOUR EAR and be fine.

If the comic featuring Palmer and Halo: SA give Palmer more depth and personal development and give her a legitimate relatable reason to behave like a -Yoink- - I may like her more. But her character as she is portrayed in Halo 4 alone is quite bad.

> I for 1 thing she’s kinda hot & we don’t see enough of her haha

I agree. Could do with more women Spartans like her I think. I prefer her then some of the other dorks in the UNSC atm.

None of the characters in Halo 4 were likable besides the chief. I mean look at the bungie games. Sgt Johnson was an amazing character, the marines in the original game were likable and had some funny lines, the arbiter had an incredible story arch, the enemies were more “real” and didn’t seem godlike because of their abilities, but because of the massive group of crazed religious nutjobs that were protecting them. I actually felt bad for Cpt. Keys, FoeHammer, the random marine who died because of the flood, and Miranda Keys when they died. I look at Palmer and she seems stuck up. I remember the line “I thought that you would have been a little bigger” Insinuating that the mc isn’t as good as his reputation deemed him to be or when the first captain started yelling at the chief while the others just sat there stupidly letting it happen. They made no move to defend a man who had saved the galaxy twice.

I feel that the best part of the game was the ending with chief walking through the deck of all of the other spartans and he was standing so much taller than them. That scene alone showed chief’s true character. Here is a man who had been bred, trained, augmented, and built from the ground up for combat. He had seen numerous battles and had saved the galaxy twice. In his eyes Palmer and her S IV’s were nothing more than children playing simple games. The didacts speech in the background was about the didact AND the chief. Both characters were being cast aside by their own people as monsters.

I got all of that from one scene with the chief and all that I got from an entire game of palmer/laskey/miller/roland/all of the spartan IV’s is that they are all stuck up drones who follow their orders blindly. Look at the assassination attempt against Halsey, or the way the infinity decided to leave requiem against chief and cortans warning about the didact. It just created a situation in which every single character was unlikeable.
