Why AFK in Bot Bootcamp?

Recently, I’ve come across the same AFK player (programmed to shoot every once and a while) idling in Bot Bootcamp. For the life of me, I can’t figure out why they’re there.

According to their profile, they’ve completed the campaign on legendary, competed in over 1K matches and appear to have a serious thing for customs at over 15K (!) played.

Obviously, completing the battle pass isn’t an issue, so why bother AFKing? Is it to grief/troll or artificially reduce their MMR for easier matches? Any thoughts?

it is most likely to exploit xp earned at the end of the game. Not sure if you get xp just for playing a bot match but if you do they probably idle because of it.

Probably exploiting MMR. It also could be for exp but probably not as likely this far into the season. Bot games are the quickest way to complete matches for the daily exp bonuses.

Or they may have needed to take a giant dump.
