Why Add Extraction Playlist?

So in the bulletin for this week, link, it said that 343 was going to put Extraction into the playlist. And I’m thinking, why? Not that many people vote for Extraction when it comes up in current playlists and I feel it is not that popular. Why won’t 343 add a playlist like Multi Team, Big Team Objective, Action Sack or a Classic playlist? Something a lot of players have been asking for and would be excited to play.

Every time I’ve seen extraction people have voted for it and played it, and its fun.
I just wish there was one point at a time like in throwdown so the fights for control would be concentrated and some what exciting.

Extraction should just be thrown into objective. There’s no reason it needs its own playlist. It comes up fairly often in Throwdown as well, Throwdown just needs more maps for it.

I love extraction. I think it needs to be 1 plot to play the best, but it is not a bad gametype by any means.

Exactly. It’s not needed at all and I’m sure the population won’t go above 6,000 next week.

Yeah, it’s not a bad gametype, just not that many people want to play it all the time.

I agree, I think it should be in Team Objective and not its own playlist. I also think CTF should be knocked down to 4v4 and put into Team Objective as well. Some of the playlist decisions have been pretty questionable. I am shocked there isn’t a Big Team Objective playlist yet, as well.

Throwdown should be left alone unless v1 settings come back.
If anything there should be two objective playlists.
1 for capture/plant objectives (CTF, Extraction, Regicide(unless assault is brought back)
and the other for capture and hold (KoTH, Oddball, dominion)

There is something nice about knowing exactly kind of objective game you’re going to play. I’m sure it will get its week or two and then be merged into objective.

As for the number nextto the playlist, why worry about it? You’re going to get a game quickly, so who cares how many people are playing it? The population is the population however it’s allocated.

What are the main differences between v1 and v2?

We don’t need 30 different playlists in an unorganized manner.

I don’t see it being a very popular playlist and I think it will eventually just be rolled into the Objective playlist where it and all objectives should be.

extraction is probably more popular than the ones in team objective which is why i think it is going to be its own playlist.

The power weapons are all ordinance so you get more ammo then you should plus it demotes map control a little bit.
The spawning is horrid in v2
CTF is broken in v2
OS turns you into a juggernaut in v2
v1 doesn’t have any of those problems plus Incineration Cannon does not exist.
v1 Haven has “jump ups” in the “drop offs” instead of gravlifts
the only thing they have in common is extraction and that’s it.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure eventually it will be put in Team Objective so I don’t see the point of creating this playlist.

Incineration cannon is fine and power weapons in ordnance doesn’t sound like a good thing.

But otherwise I can agree with those. Lifts in general are annoying as hell…

It’s pretty funny how there are no Extraction commendations even though it’s a gametype that shipped with the game

I think their was a whole thread based on that somewhere, if it can be added as a commendation make the Deadeye helmet available.

This struck me as odd, too. As the replacement for territories you’d think it would have commendations like all the other objective game types. A miss by 343 there, but nothing to get twisted over IMO. The other commendations (CTF, KOTH, Oddball) are keeping me plenty busy.
