Why Action Sack????

This really annoys me the fact that action sack is being completely removed. I am all for editing the playlist but to remove it completely come on. I really have to question the decision making at 343. Like why was Squad Slayer ever removed and Team objective switched to 5 players. I just don’t understand it.

KEEP ACTION SACK ITS AWESOME, just remove Hockey, and Haloball.

Agreed, there are playlist that deserve to be removed before Action Sack. Super Slayer has not broke a 1000 players in weeks and it gets to stay because 343 does not want to throw away the trash they made. But they are more then willing to toss Bungies work in the waste basket like its nothing.

Yea if your gonna scrap it at least re invent it. Shotty Snipers was the reason to play action sack. Power slayer was fun and hot shot was a good addition to the playlist. Why throw it away when it has so much potential?

But HaloBall is the best. :frowning:

I am going to miss Team Hotshot with the ARs being very useful at level ;). Shotty Assualt needed more love though.

As to why? Low population. ;/ Even on a good day AS (while still pulling more than the lolSquadDLC playlist, it wasn’t very high).

Hahahahaha so true.

> KEEP ACTION SACK ITS AWESOME, just remove Hockey, and Haloball.

haloball and hockey are the only gametypes that actually fit the action sack playlist, everything else is just a horrible mock up off gametypes available in other playlists and these horrible mock ups are what get picked for all the time.

why would i go to AS to play slayer or objective when i can do so in there respected playlists? only to easily K/d boost on the bad kids in the playlist, it seems to be host to worst of the worst.

All of Action Sack was fun too. It was some place I could go when I didn’t want to play a strict game. I played Action Sack for fun and enjoyment. And I play all the other playlists for competition. Now Grifball is the only place I can think of where you can enjoy the game and not be so strict about everything. I will surely miss it, and a bunch of other playlists. But there is always Action sack in Halo 3, just with a few different gametypes.

Upon entering the playlist for the final time, I’m reminded of the real reason behind it’s removal. It’s not the low population, but the people exploiting the game just to raise their K/D’s to outrageous levels.

One of the first games of the day, Speedpile on Hemmorrage, seems like it would be fun right? Well I checked out the K/D’s of the other team, all 3.0’s who were apparenly using the playlist as ‘warm up’. I don’t see how beating up on one person who was helpless against them in the canyon with all of it’s weapons and vehicles could serve as ‘warm up’.

A game or two later, Team Hotshot, on Asylum. I know I keep saying it’s the most one sided gametype ever, but it takes it to a whole new level when you actually play it. My team of course never had a chance with one person camping sniper tower, armor locking, and body shotting everyone and only ever died once.

Another game later, people actually wanted to vote for Haloball, which was actually fun. It wasn’t based around killing, but you still had to outdo the other team.

One more game later, Shotgun Assault. It’s like Hockey, plain and simple, it’s nearly impossible to score. We were lucky to score even one goal the entire game. Then again, that was very early in the game, needless to say the rest of the game was a complete stalemate.

tl;dr It’s not the low population, but the people, exploiting the bad gametypes that have driven Halo: Reach’s Action Sack to be removed.

All 343 had to do was make everyone invincible. That way it’s just objective gametypes, well on Haloball and those kind of games.

First 343 Industries took Squad Slayer away from me and now they take Action Sack away from me. What next 343 Industries. Cut my wee wee off while your at it. I was hoping action Sack, (Sack of Action), would have more available gamtetypes that were action sack worthy. Ex. people play games like Indiana Jones and races on the file share which would be fun action sack gametypes but 343 industries never made them for matchmaking. . . why. Admit it that the gametypes could be organized and seperated so much better than they are. Please bring back Action Sack and Squad Slayer. Trash Super Slayer.

i cant agree more with this topic WHY!!! on earth would you remove one of the best playlists on halo reach remove halo ball and hockey as they are not good games. also what happens to the decent game modes like speed flag etc. as well as why on eatch did you remove firefight doubles as allot of people like to play firefight with one freind not 3 strangers. also do you think halo fans are going to stand for this and carry on and buy halo 4 to play multiplayer noing how much of a issue it is with 343 removing the best modes and leaving most of the crap modes.

get a grip 343 dont throw away somthing that bungie have built up and entrusted you with.

It is really disappointing. I never played action sack too much, but when i did, me and my friends always had a good time while playing it. WE enjoyed the game mode where you could more or less “relax” and not focus on killing people all the time. It was a fun game mode, hopefully they have something like it in Halo 4.

Unfortunately, people will ‘exploit’ these objective based game types. Unlike Slayer, it is a lot easier to rack up a lot of kills, however there are no rules stating that you HAVE to play objectively. People have different play styles. If its classed as ‘exploits’, then maybe rules introduced. Removing the playlist altogether wont stop people boosting their KDR up, they’ll find another playlist in which they can do so - Grifball for example, depending on your team, you could easily reach +50 in a game, if not more.

Grifball is even more exploitable than Action Sack, especially since the added credit bonus for winning. All you’d need to do is sign into live, with 3 +1’s (with a friend doing the same) and enter a game, you kill your friends +3 and they do the same to yours - after five 3 minute rounds, you could have 200 kills or more… And if you actually scored the bomb and won, you could enjoy a nice bonus to your credits too, and yet its still there.

I’m sorry, but i cant agree with this. Shotgun Assault actually takes team work, unlike hockey, where its ‘spray and pray’ with a gravity hammer or assault rifle. Shotgun assault is more team work based. If you don’t work as a team, and try and score the ball alone, 99.9% of the time, you’ll be killed instantly.

This is quite annoying to be honest. Halo Reach has always had a few good playlists, outside of the expected playlists (Slayer, BTB, Objective, Invasion and SWAT), but now that some of the best playlists have been removed (Action Sack & FF Doubles). Instead of removing good playlists with a few game types that need a bit of tweaking, edit the game types\map variants to be less ‘exploitable’.
