Why 343?! Why did you have to release halo wars 2!

Why 343 did you have to release halo wars 2 to youtubers etc… Its so annoying when everyone has been waiting so soooo long for the game and then it is spoiled the day before… Why. Please never do this again…

I’m afraid that’s your problem in the first place. The moment you see those HW2 thumbnails on Youtube, you should’ve moved away from them right away.

Yeah, going to agree with HaXoR73 here. It’s no one’s fault but yours that you stayed around long enough to have the game spoiled for you.

How is it spoiled? You can only spoil it for yourself. Don’t watch those videos then! Its pretty much common sense

you don’t understand, its not spoiled for me but just the feeling of a new story is spoiled.

What.

343 doing an early release for major Halo YouTubers is a bad thing… because… why? Because you dislike the fact that it supposedly isn’t “new” anymore? Even though, for everybody else, it is new?

I want you to take a second, and consider how ridiculous that sounds.

Because that’s exactly what you sound like to me right now.

Also, it’s a publicity thing. Pre-release samples and reveals for YouTube personalities has been a thing for a really long time now.

All you have to do is not watch them…

What’s Halo Wars 2? What’s a youtuber?

Yah Ultimate Halo released the 7 individual cutscenes and the thumbnail spoils them all (especially the last one).

OP, I see where you’re coming from. I have the same feeling. It’s fine that YouTubers get early access to review games, but as soon as they post “Halo Wars 2 All Cutscenes,” or missions past the first couple, I hate it. There’s no sense of having everyone wait until the day it launches to know the story. Now there’s the people that watch the cutscenes and talk about it, and the people like me who want the full experience and have to sit by and avoid people talking about the story, patiently waiting for the release date. It also doesn’t help that some people got their physical copies days ago (like Monday/Tuesday-ish) and have access to the game, which is very unfair IMO. All in all, let the YouTubers post their reviews and the most two or three missions, but nothing more than that.

This is common practice. To release copies to the media (review sites, famous YouTubers/YouTube reviewers etc.) then put a set minimum date/time for being allow to release content related to that product. In this case the embargo ended today (02/16/17) at 12 midnight PST. As such many reviews/video have since gone up. It’s actually a great thing. Allows for people to get a better transparent idea about a product before buying it. So last minute pre-orders etc can be made.

Pros cut themselves off from social media until the game releases! Now excuse me I’m heading back to my corner to wallow in self pity for spoiling the game for myself.

But it would be better to keep it simple and wait for any releases. Movies get rated before release but they don’t get clips posted on the internet now do they? It just isn’t right what happened here…

We made a mistake on our end and that thumbnail wasn’t supposed to go out, so I apologise to anyone who was effected by that.
In regards to us getting review copies it means we can have healthy content out in time for launch and continue to support the community so that there’s a good stream and so we can support Microsoft’s and 343’s strategy to perform well.
Before I was a YouTuber I used to go dark before release because whether people got copies or not stuff gets leaked regardless so I would recommend anyone to go dark.

So once again I apologise for our mistake with the thumbnail, we have learned from it.
Cheers.

Don’t watch them, unsubscribe temporarily from the Halo-tubers if you have to.

EPIC FACEPALM

Seriously? This is what’s going through your mindset? You may sound like you’re speaking on behalf of the community, but that doesn’t seen to be the case.

It is one’s personal expense of spoiling the story for themselves at their own accord, therefore we shouldn’t poke our noses into their business at any point whatsoever. Not to sound mean or anything, but we have control over our own actions; you don’t dictate on what we do next.

Lol just don’t watch the videos. Why are people so weak willed nowadays?
