Why 343 Wanted MTX in MCC

So the new Title Update for MCC dropped. While I dislike the way they divided customization up by Release (making things more cluttered) and the pivot away from Seasons, 343 kicked the ball of micro-transactions down the road. But with all the new content added to the Exchange instead of a Season, what could the reasoning be? Well when you realize that all the new content in the Exchange will cost you 268 Spartan Points for 84 items that will rotate every week as opposed to said items being available in the Catalog for whenever you want them; you can see 343’s angle.

I mean, yes. It’s not like they had to make everything cost that many Spartan Points. I think someone counted out all of the items and it was somewhere between 84-95. Either way, easily enough for a 100-tier series, with each tier costing 1 SP.

There were few exceptions (mainly in Series 3 that was ODST themed). But most applied to just a few items within the final tiers, with each costing around 2-3 SP. The increased prices in the exchange is completely arbitrary.
