Why 343! (Another Analyse topic)

Why make a Great feature like Analyse/Library and then make it exclusive to the minority of the Halo fanbase?

I love Halo and i am really excited about CEA, then you announce Analyse/Library and it looks really cool, then you say its for those people who bought a £100 camera… Why? So microsoft can make a profit and milk the Halo community?
Not everyone has £100 to spare! How hard can it be to bind it to a button?, im pretty sure the D-Pad isnt in use! Make it like the grenade/reload function say it if you want to but dont make it required!

There are too many of these threads already, please don’t make another. And chances are this isn’t 343’s fault, I would guess they wouldn’t want this to be Kinect exclusive but Microsoft might be twisting their arm.

Two facts, whether or not they excuse the cheap marketing, you decide:

  1. All this information is already on Halopedia in about 50 times the detail.

  2. It is most likely that people higher up on the Microsoft chain of command made them do this. 343i has no reason to care about selling more Kinects, as I highly doubt it would impact their paycheck in any significant way.

I agree. I don’t know why this function is reserved to people with kinect. Even though I have one, I really don’t care to turn it on to use that function.

1.Model Viewer

2.How is that a fact?

I only care about the model viewer because i can only see so much of the grunt that is now on the floor bleeding, and any info i want to see is on Halopedia so im not worried about that one

by ‘model viewer’ I’d assume you mean the little mini-model in the corner of the screen. Just look at the models in game, you’ll find they are a lot bigger and interactive! Alternatively, go to google image search.

It is not a fact, but 343 would have no logical reason to try to sell Kinect. They don’t own Kinect, and make no benefit from it.

This seems to be the main point of a controller users arguments. We seem to all be pissed about the usability of the model viewer, to be honest as long as I could see models in the library with absolutely no information about it I’d be okay with this feature being Kinect only.

No, I’m talking about the full 3D model that you can rotate, it also doesn’t try to kill you, you know so you can look at the details.

I dont know about you but i find it hard to concentrate on what a guy looks like if hes shooting at me

Exactly, I could care less about being able to scan things and see their descriptions.

Yes, that is what I was talking about, the rotatable model. You yourself have asserted in other topics that CEA uses the Reach elite models. You can easily go on Reach and view the models for various types on elites there, so that already solves one thing.

No matter how many times you try to prove that 343 is evil and stingy for making this feature Kinect only, it is still a massive overreaction. There is an entire game in front of you with all new multiplayer maps and settings, all new firefight, and a remastered campaign with achievements and easter eggs… yet everyone is complaining about one trivial thing like looking at a model that they can already see in game.

Also now that theatre mode cannot be used in the CEA campaign the 3D model viewer seems to be the only way at looking at the details that the 343i art department worked so hard on, and now it seems to be Kinect exclusive

What about the Flood? Still they seem to look better in CEA (from what ive seen)

And the Sentinels.

Im also assuming that you can Analyse weapons too (In the vid where he annalyses the grunt the Plasma Pistol is highlighted too) So weapons like the Pistol and AR will be in there too with their new shiny models

Vehicles too?
