Well the title says it all … What would you think or assume if the next Bulletin is not about Ranking. You should realize that the next bulletin would be the last one before release. I am really hoping to see info about ranking before release of the game.
PS … I think Halo4 would be awesome. But a ranking system is something which would keep me coming back. I hope they think of a ranking system which is even better than 1-50. I dont care about visibility of rank. Ranking is important to me because even when I am playing Social I am playing competitively. I have a terrible Stats … but Halo is the only game that I play - I am not joking about this see me gamercard.
> sorry to be debbie downer but halo 4 doesnt have a ranking system, I wouldnt get my hopes up in regards to the next bulletin if I were you.
Don’t be a negitive nelly. There hasn’t been any confermation of no ranking system. Your simply stating your opinion with no facts. Don’t pass that off as truth.
I’d assume from the statements in the competitive settings video that they have an invisible true skill system that will match you with people from your skill level. Either that or they’re just gonna suprise us. I’m not overly worried about it. I just want to beat Campaign on legendary.

There has been no confirmation of a system or lack there of. I’d assume the next bulletin would detail it because I can’t think of anything major other than rank that hasn’t been covered yet.
Halo 4 has a ranking system and 343i have already posted a bulletin about it.
The ranking system works like this.
*You start at SR-1
*The more games you play the more SP you earn.
*The more SP you earn the higher you rank is.
*You get SP weather you win or loose. (you get far more SP for winning).
*This continues until you reach SR-50
*At SR-50 you unlock specializations.
*You can rank up 10 times in each specialization.
*That is a total of 130 ranks
1-50 is no longer a ranking system. However it most likely still integrated in the matchmaking system so everyone gets paired up with players around their skill level.

That is also how you rank up in War Games and Spartan Ops. Just like Halo Reach. How is this confusing?

I wouldn’t be too concerned because we will all find out regardless a week later. I would feel a little let down if nothing was said of it just by the fact that 343 has stated many times, they would give us news about it closer to launch
I couldn’t care less about having arbitrary numbers representing skill, as long as games make an attempt to rank other players its good enough for me it doesn’t need to be visible to accomplish that. I don’t need someone else to tell how far I progressed.
I prefer in depth stats and leaderboards to a series of numbers if anything.
The main reason I didn’t play Reach as much isn’t because I didn’t have some arbitrary carrot on a stick or had some desperate need to know how good I was compared to others. Reach just didn’t grab me in the way that the other games did, some people really loved it and that is just fine.
Halo 4 on the other hand looks like a blast to play to me and at the end of the day that is why I play games.
The only reason I would support separate ranked playlists in addition to social playlists is so DLC could be required for most core gametypes so people who want to play new maps can while also satisfying those who can’t or won’t.
people are going to play it regardless some will go apesh!te and cry and whine then piss themselves and take it to the forums of how they will quit the game if they dont add a ranking system in an update, and i will laugh.
id like a ranking system too butim not gonna be liek hpw everyone else is about it.

wishful thinking, if such an important aspect of the game hasnt been revealed yet then chances are high that it just doesnt exist.
I cant confirm the non-existence of the ranking system, but if were being realistic then it shouldn`t be surprising if it indeed isnt there.

Because if you watch the multiplayer bts closely you see people with an SR-2 with no rank insignia and another with SR-2 with a Recruit insignia. This shows that the progression system and Rank could be two completely different things.
I’m not the man with the sources, but I am pretty sure true skill is still in play, just not visible. Trueskill has been used in every Halo game with mulltiplayer. There is no doubt it will be here to match matches as well. The design aspect of it was flawed. I’m glad we can’t visually see our trueskill, because people obviously exploited it by buying accounts. Don’t think 343 doesn’t support it, the idea is to make a better system where we actually feel like we are committed to ranking up. Halo 3, it felt impossible in my opinion. I’d get to 45 in Lone Wolves and what not, and I just kept losing and became frustrated with the fact my trueskill goes down. It’s not that 343 doesn’t support the idea, (look at reach) we were given a visual BPR which is sort of a visual skill factor. Maybe they’ll bring it back. I’m pretty sure the next bulletin will be talking about the next iteration of Waypoint, and Halo 4’s launch week. So maybe BPR will be back. We’ll see. There are many design reasons as to why it’s not visible.

We already know this… It’s been said that 343 is/hopefully is working on a better ranking system
Well, considering the Bulletin might come out Thursday, that leaves roughly 4-5 days until the game releases. I doubt it will be about any form of ranking system, if there’s even one at all.
