I’m only counting the first 3 slots and not all 10. I have had 3 of my threads on the popular page. How many have you guys had?

One, two if you count the ban thread (I didn’t create, but I certainly work on its behalf as its self proclaimed prophet). Is this a popularity contest?

It’s not a popularity contest. Anyone can make it to the popular page if they just have a click baity title and it has to do something with sprint or other controversial ideas. It’s just a fun thing I’m doing, and I wish more would respond lol.

Actually mine was a poll about which people liked better the spnkr or the h5 launcher. I was going to use it as a point for another thread at the time. However there are always those people that just want to see the results, so I through in a third option ‘cheese.’ Things kind of got weird from there. Still made my point, but apparently people really like cheese.

I voted for cheese
I’ve probably had a few on the OG Popular Threads list, but I don’t remember which ones.
Boohoo, I have never had a popular thread topic. sobs
Most of the popular threads are not to engaging beyond a certain point. After the second or third page of a thread I find it moot to continue the discussion. Arguments become cyclic and repetitive because no one is willing to change their opinion on anything. Sometimes a popular thread is worth a few posts on, but I prefer to respond to new OPs as opposed to large current threads. Maybe this is why I probably won’t ever make a topic worthy of the popular section. Oh well.

You just have to make sure your title is click-baity and that it’s an opinion a lot will oppose and tell you the opposite. All the ones I have had have been about an opinion I have that many oppose. They were about microtransactions being good, Cortana being evil being good, and that 343 are listening.

I don’t think I have the heart to give into the click baity titles and controversial OP. Im fine without being in the popular thread club.
Im trying to get my thread really popular, its about a new Achilles type armour but for solo commendation instead of being with a company

That sounds interesting. Can I have a link to your thread?
Haven’t had the pleasure of being on the front page lol
Never had a topic with more than a couple replies , no matter how thought provoking I thought the topic was.
Maybe I’m just not that interesting.

Are you sure? You sure seem to be treating it like one. it doesn’t get more attention seeking than using clickbait titles and seeking controversy.
I rarely have anything to say that would deserve its own thread to begin with. I’ve only ever made one thread here in the past five years, and it’s not one to become popular.

One thread in five years??? I don’t even really have a response other than wow.

I’m pretty much on this boat too. I’ve made a few topics, but most have either been ARG related to some kind of FAQ / information based post. Generally anything I want to talk about already has an active, existing thread
Only had 1… better than none.

It was not my intent to make this a popularity contest. In my head I’m not going; “wow, he hasn’t had any threads on the popular page. LOSER!!!” It’s just a fun thing I thought I’d do. If you think that’s what it is, then feel free to lock it, but that’s not what I was trying to do.

I guess I have pretty strict standards about what I consider worth a thread. There are topics I would’ve liked to make a thread about, but either I’ve never managed to approach the topic in enough depth to make a meaningful contribution, or I haven’t had enough time, or the time hasn’t been right. If I just want to discuss a topic, there’s usually a thread around for it anyway. If there isn’t, I often feel it’s not something worth bothering with.
Chances are, if I created a thread, I’d just end up disappointed with the quality of my own contribution, or the quality or number of responses, or any combination of them. I don’t feel like I could start the kind of discussion I would like to start, so I rather just participate in other people’s threads without having to stress about the value of the thread or the discussion within.
Aside from starting a discussion, the other possibility is a thread that’s strictly informational, but there’s a lot I would have to have to give to the community to make a thread about it. Otherwise I could just post it in a relevant thread. The information would have to be something that’s been a big project to me, which is precisely what the thread in my signature is. If the text content doesn’t exceed the 7500 character limit, it’s probably not worth its own thread.

I didn’t mean it in that sense, but rather that starting controversial threads for the sake of seeing if they become popular isn’t something I personally approve.

I was just stating something that happens most of the time. I don’t create them so they go on the popular page. I just have a controversial topic that I want to share and it usually goes to the popular page.
