Who's idea was spartan charge

Who thought spartan charge was a good idea? More importantly what did that person think it would bring to the game, because frankly all it seems to add to halo is frustration when you die to a single button press and getting sneezed on by any weapon in the game.

Probably the guy who can’t shoot very well thought of it.

So, one of the those people who melee twice?

Someone who thought it was a brilliant idea

But now it’s crippling depression :frowning:

I was watching a video on who actually thought of it and how they took the idea from Destiny. I don’t remember what the video wad but I think it was from the Halo YouTuber called Wpns Grade. But still I’m not sure what that video was called nor who made it.

A guy who got shot from across the room 1 too many times and I like him for it.

More of who’s idea was it to change the MJOLNIR original Spartan armor to an Iron man suit? Now a jetpack, thrusters, etc is built in to the suit. At least in Reach if you equipped the jetpack it showed the jetpack on your back. Spartan charge, ground pound and the thruster features need to go from the suit

I personally think that Spartan Charge is the only thing that needs to be removed. I pleasantly enjoy everything else, especially the Ground Pound; great for slamming down onto an unfortunate victim, traversing entire portions of a map in a single leap, or making a hasty escape.

I think it was Bill in programming.

You shouldn’t be able to charge while being shot plain and simple. Therefore you wouldn’t get that get out jail free card for being late on the trigger while sprinting around.

Destiny probably

I like the idea, but not so much its execution… Aozolai offered some good balancing ideas, yet I would also add on a charge-up mechanic, like ground pound (or certain weapons), then it could not be spammed on demand.

Spartan charge should be campaign-only in Halo 6, every other ability should stay (except maybe ground pound and ADS, although I’m neutral on pound and I barely use ADS anyway)

I don’t know, but his mother should have had an -Yoink!-.

More seriously now, spartan charge ruins the gaming experience (as does ground pound, sprint and thrusters, but spartan charge is the worst), its just “annoying stupidity taking form in a game”. Just when you forget it exists, a -Yoink- deprived of skills (that is running towards you), kills you with it while you were aiming a target with the sniper, and continues his way, running on to the next unfortunate victims.

Hope they listen to their most talented players out there for Halo 6, because if they continue on this sad, gimmicky, casual path, Master Chief will be able to throw fireballs with his eyes, teleport behind an enemy and summon a volcano that will engulf an entire map. It’s getting ridiculous.

You can always try and counter a Spartan Charge by jumping and/or thrusting.

I agree, but in my opinion, there’s a small percentage of people who don’t know how to counter a Spartan Charge

The only game mode I find it frustrating in, is SWAT. In more open maps its fine, but close quarter maps its AWEFUL.

Im not sure but i love it and hope it stays.

I like the spartan charge honestly

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it now… As long as Halo has the Sprint animation, Spartan charge or a form of it needs to be in. Otherwise you just get the whole double melee thing like Reach and that was awful!!! I’ve heard people suggest lowering the melee damage to solve this. Again, I disagree with that. That would just turn Halo into a slug feast in my opinion and that isn’t fun.

Spartan charge isn’t perfect, I agree. I wouldn’t mind trying some kind of cool down effect like thrusters. I also think it tracks a tad too much.

I also agree with this.

I don’t think that’s a good idea to have things in campaign or multiplayer only. I would try to avoid that at all costs. Especially when it’s a gameplay mechanic. That will lead to confusion for a lot of players and ultimately people questioning why they can’t say do this in one mode and not the other… which will lead to people complaining on places like Waypoint. So you’re no further ahead then what you are right now.

I’m all for getting ride of the dumb ADS style zooming though as it does nothing for gameplay and just makes Halo feel generic. You want your game to stand out, not be/look like everything else on the market.

I kind of agree with this in a way. I think if a player is in the Sprint animation, small arms fire (Tier 1 Weapons Magnum, Boltshot etc) shouldn’t slow them down and they can do Spartan charge as they can now. If there hit with Tier 2 Weapons (BR, Carbines, etc) it does slow them down which in affect will cause them not to be able to do Spartan charge from as far away or maybe at all if you make it so the player can get knocked out of sprint. Tier 3 weapons (Hydra, Rail, Sniper etc) should knock you out of sprint completely which would obviously make it so you couldn’t do Spartan charge.

Maybe that’s too complex, I don’t know… I go back and forth on it. I guess I’d need to play test it to really see. At the very least, I think it’s worth looking into if your hit with a tier 3 weapon, you should be knocked out of sprint. Which neutralizes the ability to use Spartan charge.

Forgot to add this… One could (and many people have) make the same complaint about the Sprint animation being in. You hit a single button to get away. Just saying is all.
