I love competitive Halo to the max but I do have a limit these days. Back in the day when I was getting a 50 in team doubles I vowed I never would do it again. I really don’t like doubles but wanted a 50 in that playlist. It was a long hard road of 3-4 nights in a row and as satisfying the 50 was I said to my doubles friend “I’m never doing that again”.
I just didn’t have as much fun as say I did in Ranked Team Slayer getting a 50.
The most I will try is get a 50 in Halo 3 team slayer. If that doesn’t work with ELO then oh well, I’m getting to play Halo 3 on dedicated servers, 60fps, and 1080p. As for every other playlist and game I’ll let the ranks fall where they are. My days of trying to get to the top are done I think. Just gunna focus on each match at a time competitively and not worry about ELO since ELO is temporary anyways. Unlike Halo 3 rank once a 50 always a 50. I feel like the hard work of a ELO 50 isn’t worth it. You could go down the next match or have a bad streak of teammates and lose all that hard work. Just not worth it to me really.
I will try and I will almost definitely fail miserably.
If this truly is Halo 2’s ranking system, then I’ll be happy to reach 30 on even one playlist.
I’ll probably do lone wolves, team slayer, maybe doubles, and btb if they have ranks for it.
I would love to try but I doubt it’ll happen. I don’t play as much as I used to.
I’ll hit a BTB 50 and try for a H2 50. But thats about it.

That’d be awesome and all, but if it is true that this ranking system is just like Halo 2’s, then reaching rank 50 is not nearly as doable as it is in Halo 3…just the way it should be. Make the top rank something special and rare for only the absolute best of players, and not just those that are pretty good with a bit of time on their hands.

If Halo 2’s ranking system extends across all titles, then it’ll be next to unachievable. Getting a 50 in one playlist alone in Halo 2 was on the verge of unachievable in itself.
I never got to experience Halo 2’s multiplayer, or get to see the ranking system and how it works, so I’m not too sure what to expect. But from what others have said, it’s gonna be difficult, so probably not, but I will try.

For those of you who never played Halo 2 or experienced its ranking system, VERY FEW of the hundreds of thousands of players (millions?) that will be playing the MCC will be able to reach a legitimate 50. I know I probably won’t.

While this is very true, for Halo 2 and the ELO system. At the moment 343i has not said how this identical rank system of Halo 2 will be formulated. Sure we can assume it is ELO but are they just talking about 1-50 with the same symbols and different formula or is it actually ELO.

I’ve always played purely for 50’s and being the best I can be. I’m going to have fun on this one. If I want to play competitive from time to time I’ll invite people.
Just FFA for me. Rumble Pit/Lone Wolves has always been my specialty.
I actually have a job so I won’t be able to play it enough to rank to 50 in multiple things. Mostly weekend playing for me.
From what I’ve heard and read, getting a 50 in Halo 2 was very damn hard.
I don’t think I will ever get a 50 in any of the playlists, but I hope I have a pretty good rank in each one I play in.
You couldn’t get a 50 in Halo 2 back in the day because of rampant cheaters. It should very well be possible now, but still extremely difficult.
343i confirmed the ranking system is Halo 2’s. So good luck getting a 40, let alone just one 50.
For me, it’s going to be Living Dead that I’m going to try and get as highest rank as possible. But whatever the highest rank I can get, that’s it. I’m not going to keep tryharding until I reach 50 (in any playlist for that matter).
