In every Halo game there has been a death of a major character. But slowly as we progressed through Halo the deaths had a greater impact. In Halo 3 Seargent Johnsen died, miranda keyes died, the prophet died. In Halo 4 Cortana died.
In Halo 5 who will die?
My thoughts: Despite me not wanting to believe it, i think The arbiter will die…

I would hate to see that happen but I agree that he is a possible character to die.
It’s a concern of mine- The possible death of the Arbiter.
I doubt Thel will die so soon after hie reintroduction. Maybe H6 or 7, but not 5. If anybody, I’d guess Hood.

For sure Halsey or Palmer - they just can’t coexist.
However I wouldn’t be surprised with death of Lasky and Arbiter. Yes, 343i put lot of effort on creating Lasky (so letting him die this early seems to be a waste), but both him, and Arbiter are these nice, friendly characters… who are dying in heart-breaking moments.
I wouldn’t be even surprised with death of MC - this would be shocker even bigger than Cortana in H4. However I think that they’ll kill him at the epic final of Forerunner trilogy. Yes, I know than Bonnie Ross said it’s more “saga” than “trilogy” right now, but good, epic stories just MUST be told in trilogies, with start, middle and end. All depends on what is actually “middle” of Forerunner story: is it Spartan Ops + Escalation, or if Halo 5 going to be this middle and Forerunner story will conclude in Halo 6.
