That’s just streaming. Big difference between streaming gameplay and actually playing it on PC.
For example, to stream, you need an Xbox One. For Halo Wars 2, you don’t.

Nope, that’s streaming from the Xone console in your house to your computer also in the house. You are limited by the console’s hardware AND the network’s quality.
This is just a normal, full-blown PC version of the game, which is gonna be very, very nice.
Unless you mean cross-buy, in that case, it would be the same but only needing to buy it once, But haven’t seen anything applied like that between any Xbox and PC so far.
I sure hope that it’s not like Total War games. As cool as they are, they’re not my thing, and they’re not like Halo Wars. The new one should build up on the original, perhaps with more base building and stuff.
If mouse and keyboard support comes to Xbox One, I will definitely play this on there. If, by fall next year, mouse and keyboard support isn’t released or on the horizon yet, then I might decide to play it on PC. Do we actually know if you have to buy it seperately or if you can have it on both systems by just buying it for one?

I’m just hoping for HUGE battles between hundreds of humans and Covenant. Not sure how air units will work out.
Halo Wars 1 will probably be backwards compatible on the Xbox1 at some point. As For a PC port of it I dunno. I’d love to see Skybox Labs port it over to PC. They’re the ones who have been updating the old Ensemble games and Rise of Nations to work on modern PCs. I’m hoping that one of the 2 unannounced PC projects on their website is Halo Wars. But don’t get your hopes up

I don’t think you need to worry about it. The Total War gameplay doesn’t really fit all that well with more modern weapons and tactics.
I’m so torn at the moment and I’m want to know how the controls are going to work before I make my decision. Halo Wars did a pretty good job of making an RTS playable on a console, but there’s no doubt it was a limited compared to a mouse and keyboard. Are they going to have a similar control scheme for Halo Wars 2 or focus on mouse/keyboard? If cross-platform play is going to be allowed, how much of an advantage will a mouse/keyboard player have over someone with a controller? How many additional controls/hotkeys will be added to the mouse/keyboard controls over a controller? If you’re going to be severally crippled by playing with a controller then I’ll be getting it for PC. I know the mouse/keyboard support is supposed to be coming to Xbox, but if I’d going to using them I think I’d rather do it on a computer.

If it works on PC like 90% of PC games, we could be able to switch between KB/M to Controller by simply plugging it in… Only if the interface doesn’t differ drastically from one platform to another.

Might be interesting
Mouse and Keyboard would make the game unbalanced for those that prefer controller.
Depends on keyboard support since controller support only would be more balanced.
Halo Wars 1 is more likely to come to X1 due to backwards compatibility but I doubt it will come to PC.
I must say that Halo Wars 2 will be pretty epic to play on the PC system but imagine how many people or players can be playing all at once in a single gameplay.
I will be purchasing the PC version. Hoping this game plays more similar to Age of Empires or the old C&C games. The first one was amazing for a console only RTS but with the Xbox One basically being a lowend gaming PC, and with an actual PC version being released, I will not accept any limitations similar to the first game.
