I mean, every thing is saying that they are unaugmented and still faster and more agile than the chief. Master Chief has been built to be the best super soldier. From what I have heard (correct me if I’m wrong) spartan IV’s are just regular people who volunteered to be Spartans. How can they even wear a half ton of mjolnir? Main question is how do you feel about playing as a spartan IV in MM?
Pfft. The MC is past it. He much be like 60 years old now.
He’s actually 40 something. And that’s really not what it’s about. How are IV’s better if they are regular people?
how do you know they are regular people
I haven’t read it, but from what I hear about grasslands is that when looking for spartan IV’s, they took special forces from the military and voluenteers.
I am glad for this, something new and different but still keeping Halo intact. I heard that they were the best soldiers and some were augmented, but some are remaning spartan 2’s and 3’s.

Yeah I heard the same link below!
If some are infact unaugmented how can the wear the half ton mjolnir armor?
They’re not better than Spartan IIs or IIIs. No one has said that they are.
Nothing even indicates that they’re anywhere near as capable as a Spartan II or III. I figured that their being less augmented (they must have some augmentations in order to survive use of MJOLNIR armour, I assume) is meant to explain how come Master Chief will be ripping open metal doors and whatnot in campaign but we can only jump pretty high and punch each other in multiplayer.
Just because they were volunteers, like Spartan IIIs, doesn’t mean they weren’t Augmented, and the technology OF those augmentations, has a good 30 years on the Chief’s and the Armor has about a decade.

This makes sense. Thanks.

John isn’t even technically legendary b/c of his skill. It’s pretty much a fact that it’s his “luck” factor.
He’s awesome by chance according to that description.
So Are spartan IV’s more like II or III
Because spartan III’s are smaller then elites while Spartan II’s Are the same size

He’s awesome cause he’s a spartan II trained from age 6. That’s why Jorge was the only cool noble team member.
So much speculation.
I’ve read all of the books thus far, except for the two prequel books that have been published, i’m in the process of reading GRASSLANDS. but to the fact of spartan IV they are in ghosts of onyx if you would like to learn as much as possible about them.
Other wise the IV are truly inferior to Master Chief and other spartans, they are a development of ONI and Chief Mendez is lead a true spartan. also, there are other spartans alive other than chief from what I can recall there are four to five others still alive somewhere. Three are with Dr. Halsey they are within the collapsed planet ONYX which is a shield world, that contains a slip space structure built by the forerunners to shield them from the firing of the HALO rings.

…Jorge? Really? He was the only one that turned into a 6 year old when they entered Halsey’s lab the first time. Carter and Kat gave her a nice fresh attitude. Jorge was all “Ma’am/Mum” lol. If it were an image of “What Doesn’t Belong Here”, Jorge is that image. Not saying he wasn’t a good character to a point, but he was far from the best. He was the least used!
And even so, John still isn’t even the best Spartan. Technically Kurt was. If it wasn’t for his overly friendly nature, his intuition kept him at a higher ranking than John in terms of skill. It’s in Ghosts of Onyx that Kurt practically always beat Johns team in training.

SO MUCH . I wish I wish upon a fish that I didn’t have uni right now so that I could read the books…then again I could read them instead of cruisin the www…hmm…
