What is it?
The challenge is simple: you are only allowed to use your custom loadouts as soon as you start wargames. that means you will have to stick with the classic AR, Magnum, frag. completely barebones. no AA, no support upgrade, no tactical package, and the biggest challenge: No default loadouts.
Why do it?
Now do note that this challenge will take much patience. it will push you to the fullest test of having to wait to play with all the new goodies, but that will harden you. this will also benefit the competitive community (which I would imagine would be the majority doing this challenge) because lower skilled players will have to learn the motions before they go into anything real serious. and when they DO reach that sweet carbine they’ve been looking to use all this time, they’ll love it all the more.
(You may skip this paragraph. it is an analogy as to why it might be a benefit to “not so good” players)
when I say “Harden the player” I mean in a sense that they have to overcome a large obstacle before finally getting to the other side of the hill. to put it in perspective, imagine you had just beaten the halo 4 campaign on legendary. you didnt get ANY special level-specific achievements or side achievements (like finding a terminal etc.) once you go back to look and explore, it just seems like a breeze. same with this challenge. once the player finally has the ability to purchase the weapon they wanted, they would have already known how to survive without it. like a survivor knows how to make a fire with sticks is given a pack of matches; you’ve gone through the motions, and as your reward, you can do it with ease, through experience AND tools.

EDIT: a reply inspired me to add a list of different challenges:
Normal Challenge: Go the entire time only using what you’ve unlocked. NO DEFAULT LOADOUTS ALLOWED.
Unfamiliar Challenge: you are not allowed to pick up a weapon you’ve not unlocked (yes, even in a life or death situation) the only exceptions are ordnance weapons as they are not loadout weapons
Heroic Challenge: Go through all 50 SR ranks without purchasing a single item until Specializations.
Legendary Challenge: go through all 130 SR ranks without purchasing a single item.
