Who would you prefer? 343 or Bungie?

With the current state of the franchise in your view (excellent, awful, whatever you feel),

Would you prefer 343i keep doing what they’re doing?

Or would you rather have the days of Bungie back and in control?

Look at Destiny. That gives you an idea of where Bungie wanted to take things (not the space magic but the gameplay). I believe Halo became a burden and creative shackle to Bungie because between Microsoft and “Halo fans” they would never be allowed to push the boundaries of FPS design and gameplay. If Bungie were really in control, there would be more than just Spartan charges and ground pounds in this game. Sure Destiny has had no shortage of problems, but boy is it fundamentally fun to play!

So I would say let 343i have the burden of stewarding Halo. I’d rather see Bungie free to push their vision of FPS gameplay without the extra burden of being “classic Halo”.

Personally I like the way it is right now. I like 343’s Halo. And I like Bungies Destiny. Honestly I would pick 343 halos over bungies halos

Probably not a great post to have. prepare for hate, and trolls that always exist on these types of posts.

343 is like letting a Beatles tribute band write and release a new Beatles album.
They are just a tribute band, not the original artists, and it shows.

That’s too bad, as I’m genuinely curious. The last Halo I played was Halo 2. I read up on 3 and 4 and purchased 5 on a whim to get back into the franchise. It seems like a good idea to pick up MCC to play everything in between but it seems it wasn’t very good?

Personally I’m enjoying Halo 5 quite a bit both in campaign and MP modes.

After seeing Bungie’s Halo 1, 2, 3, ODST, Reach, compared to 343’s Halo: Spartan Assault, Halo 4, Halo: MCC, Halo: Spartan Strike, and Halo 5: Guardians, I would very much prefer the old Bungie. I know that might not make sense, but after Reach, a lot of Bungie’s team got shifted around, a lot of people quit after disagreements over Destiny’s development, and overall the partnership with Activision turned the company into a very generic group. I think we would have a very different set of Halo games if Bungie was still making them, and the core team members were still in charge. Bungie as it is now is not the same, and I don’t think they would do well with Halo either.

I would prefer Certain Affinity above both.

I agree that Destiny is a lot of fun to play…while it’s fun to play if that makes any sense. The probably I have with Destiny is it seems that the majority of content takes very little time to complete. The grinding for light levels and weapons/armor is fun and brings me back to my D2 days, but it seems to halt pretty quickly depending on how fortunate RNG is for you.

Halo 5 has been a good break from Destiny so far.

I’d prefer Certain Affinity to be in charge of multiplayer and 343i (Bring back Joe Staten) responsible for story. Max Hobermann did a terrific job at designing the multiplayer for both Halo 2 and 3 while Joe Staten would do a good job making stories (Since his was cut by Bungie in Destiny).

the bungie before the transformation into bungievision yeah that would be great

Neither. The bungie of today isn’t cut for it, and neither is the 343 of today.

The heads of 343 needs to be culled, and replaced. Halo 5 makes it blindingly obvious that they are not capable of maintaining this franchise.

I dunno. Bungie’s pretty foxy, but I do like redheads. I’d have to go with 343i on this one.

Edit: Nvm, read the post wrong lol!

343i is my pick at this point. Bungie did great with Halo but i don’t love what they are doing with Destiny.

Let’s see, would I rather have overall character development across the expanded universe or not?

Well this is a no brainer. 343 wins my vote.

Prove it. Seriously. Just give me links and evidence so I can be informed as you are. What I have read from Bungie.net and interviews with the Sandbox Team has clearly misguided me.

You sure about that? Reach looks like poop to me.

343i over all…love halo 5!

The old bungie team, no question.
