At this point, pretty much just Cortana so her character can get some real closure. If Cortana in Halo 5 was really her, I’d at least like it to be somewhat respectful but if it’s just crazy rampant fragments, do whatever.
Id be good if all chacters in H5 got killed off except Chief & Buck. Maybe they all get infected by the flood, works for me.

That could be an entryway to a really engaging apocalypse storyline! If they did it right, it could both be happy to see them die for those who hated them, but also a very serious and dark way to continue an apocalypse style tragedy to it’s bitter end.
I don’t know if that concept of chief in cloaks is still relevant, but it would make THAT make sense, because he’s so alone.

I’d keep all the members of Blue Team, they been with Chief since the beginning.
Please don’t flame me but I’d finally have Master Chief die. This series I feel like in all honesty is going in the wrong direction storywise. With Cortana going rampant and having the Created. I feel like Chief would be the only one to truly stop this for good. That’s why I felt like Halo 3’s ending work at least until the credits kept rolling. Finishing the Fight truly felt like the end. And what way for the Reclaimer saga to end with Humanity finally taking up the Mantle of Responsibility due to Chief sacrificing himself to preserve all life in the Galaxy?
Hmmm I’d kill Tanaka. Give her a dumb death like slipping on a banana and hitting her head on the floor without her helmet on or something.
Palmer. Because I hate her attitude. But I’d like it to have some meaning. Maybe sacrifice herself to save Chief, one of her team members, or even Halsey. Sacrificing herself for Halsey would make a big impact. I hate cheap meaningless deaths, like Jul.

Yeah i would of been good with 3 being the last game. End the series on a high note. Make a H3A and put this series to rest already.
Warden… Eternal(ly). I want him to be plagued by a virus that causes him to have visions every hour. Visions in which he fights increasing numbers of Master Chief copies until he feels so overwhelmed with frustration that he runs to a corner and sits, rocking in the fetal position, while scouring local networks looking for a way to glitch out of it.

It does need to happen sometime. I don’t think it’ll be in Infinite though, but that would be an insane ending. Maybe the whole time 343 is setting us up to think that MC is the reclaimer, when it is actually someone else the whole time. Whenever it happens it will be a sad day. I hope they do it right. The Coalition hasn’t killed off Marcus yet. That might be in Gears 5

Out of everyone from H5G I would say cortana because it kinda ruin halo 4 ending. Palmer and orisis (buck isn’t part of it now i think) could just get the thorne treatment, if lasky dies then RIP, and warden you really can’t kill him unless 343i does a didact move.

Yeah, but nanobots. Don’t forget since H4 nanobots are canon and can do pretty much everything! 
Seriously though Cortana. She’s just a fragment of the real one, or her residual memory inside of a biotech walking corpse. Something among those lines… I know it’s cheap, but bringing her back - especially as the new Stalin like space dictator - was cheap to begin with. It works and it’s easy to put into an action game story, so let’s roll with it! 
Once Chief get caught, because of his librarian space magic, the Warden or Guilty Spark or "Didact is still alive - again!" or whoever 343i decides the new villain should be, kills her of for good. Not without helping the Chief first of course.
Our hero survives. Angry, beaten down and sad, but still alive and kicking. The real story starts from here! Human kind are the underdogs again, Banished are the new Covi enemies hunting the Chief for his gift, a third party tries to achieve the Mantle and reawaken the Flood in the process.
Not a masterpiece, but again, it works in the context and it is a perfect starting point for future story-lines!
