I was super annoyed that you can obtain Helioskrill in gold packs, especially when I myself took the time to complete the entire MCC on legendary and find every single skull there was to find. Please, if you have gotten the Helioskrill armour in a gold pack, make sure to at least go onto the Master Chief collection and complete one of the campaigns, no matter what difficulty.
I went through the campaigns on MCC to get it. So it was pretty awesome to wear it early game, as that was the only way. With the Warbound and Bloodgorger versions that came out, yeah, getting it is as easy as a gold pack.
My personal take is that you still would have to finish the campaigns on the MCC legendary before wearing any of it, but that’s just me.

To completely have a right to wear it I would agree with you on that
I would say the same thing with Achilles. You have to prove yourself if you want the right to wear it.
I’ve had the Helioskrill since launch, so I got it from MCC.
I beat the legendary campaigns to get the achievements done. Getting Helioskrill was just a bonus.
I got Helioskrill through unlocking the Legend achievement. And I could care less that’s its available in the REQ system. This is reminiscent of the whole Recon thing with Halo 3; people clamored when Bungie unlocked it for everyone, saying it was a “status symbol” or that not everyone “deserved” it. It’s pixels. The number of other people who have it shouldn’t affect how cool it is to you; it’s aesthetics don’t change just because other people have it/wear it. I’m a proponent of everyone having the chance to get everything in a game; I’m against pre-order exclusives and paid exclusives and things like that. So the fact that the only other way to get Helioskrill is to buy a play an entire other game, well, I think it’s fine that it’s available through the REQ system. Not everyone has the time/money to be able to get MCC, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have access to a cool piece of armor. Hearing someone talk about “worthiness” or “deserving” of wearing Helioskrill sounds like elitism.
I got it from the MCC achievement, but that was after it was made available in Golds. Not wanting to grind packs to get it and also wanting to say I got it legit, I went through the campaigns, and now here I am.
Eh I would mind if it looked remotely good.
I finished the Legendary MCC campaign before I knew about Helioskrill.
I earned it by getting the achievement and yes it’s yoink since they dumped it in the gold packs. I think they did it because so many would be here crying MCC is “broken” and it’s not fair blah blah blah.
As soon as MCC came out, I started working on completing all campaigns on legendary and I did it as a lone wolf. I got the Helioskrill armor this way but I don’t use it. I did the campaigns on legendary as a personal gold and feel proud of myself that I accomplished it. It was sad when 343 decided to put Helioskrill in the req. pool but I didn’t care. I have read lots of opinions about getting it thru a req pack instead of grinding to earn it, and I respect every one. My opinion is, if you bought MCC, you might as well have fun playing it. Just saying.
I’m confused as to when Halo on legendary became such a challenge to everyone, I’m not saying this to be all high and mighty but the only campaign I had some issues with was Halo 2’s and the Library from CE, I have always seen Halo’s legendary as in the middle in terms of difficulty when lining up most of my games, maybe I have just been with Halo for so long I have just gotten use the mechanics
I never really liked the Helioskrill body or legs or helmet, I really wish I could just use the arms but nooooooooooo we just had to have full sets.

I’m pretty sure unlocking it automatically gives you the right to wear it. Just because someone is wearing Achilles doesn’t mean they’re gods, I’ve seen many players with Achilles who weren’t very good and then there’s the “pro” players that don’t even wear Achilles. Same thing goes for Helioskrill being unlocked in gold packs. It’s just a pixel that doesn’t grant you any sort of advantage. I mean c’mon I still wore Mark IV even after they gave it out to everybody…
i was pretty salty when this happened, i thought it was the coolest looking armor through all of halo and it was 1/2 sets you actually had to earn. the armor got completely ruined for me when they put it in gold packs. haven’t worn it since.

I had a bit more trouble completing the campaign, I did it on co-op which may or may not have made it harder. Although I have to agree Halo 4 was incredibly easy.
got from the achievement and I don’t really mind if it’s in the REQ system.
Got mine in the first gold pack I opened

People felt accomplished though, bungie shouldn’t have made recon wearable for everyone either.People like to show off things that they have earned and 343 and bungie should’ve kept the requirements for unlocking both helmets without giving it to everyone. And while I did get by getting the legend achievement,I never really wore it,but I understand why people are bothered by it being easily accessible to everyone now

Halo 1 and 2 were just frustrating to beat in legendary, not impossible, but difficult.I beat all the campaigns solo and while I only wore helioskrill a few times I understand why people have a problem with it being easily attainable now.
