Who/why was the marine worried about dying?

During the power up part was the marine worried about dying? Or was he worrying that Master Chief would die? :o

I think he was worried the ship was going to die if waking up Chief didn’t work. (I mean the ship would have lost all power, and he would have died shortly after with a big tin man statue) it looked like he put all his resources into that. Also, if Chief woke up he’d definitely be able to get that guy out of the situation he was in, so there was a lot of pressure on him.

However, Cheif totally YEETed himself out the backdoor into what I can only assume was space, so I don’t know how helpful he was to the pilot lol

I’d assume he’s hoping the Chief won’t die.
Bypassing safety protocolls and so forth to reboot the armor, or whatever he was doing.

Yep… I thought it was directed at the Chief.

I would say it was likely a communal prayer for all 3. He doesn’t want to kill the Chief , but doesn’t have the proper equipment to run an actual reboot ; doesn’t want to kill the ship , but really doesn’t have a better option ; and clearly doesn’t want to die himself.
