I was looking at a webpage on this site when I came across a rather promising line from the “Halo 4” section of the site:
“Set in the aftermath of Halo 3, Master Chief returns to confront his own destiny and face an ancient evil that threatens the fate of the entire universe.”
“Ancient evil”
The term “Ancient” has been used to describe the Forerunners several times. It was also once used to describe the flood, but being that the flood is no longer ancient, it’s likely it’s just the Forerunners . Now, it can either be just their tech (343 got pretty mad at the end of Halo 3) or the Forerunners might actually be alive! Considering that Anniversary terminals are supposed to give a lead into Halo 4, and the terminals have to do with 343 Guilty Spark, I’m saying this idea is promising. What do you guys think? Am I just a clueless idiot and this is old news? If so, just say so.
Right at the end of the concept art video we saw something which looks suspiciously similar to the description of a precursor. I’m guessing the last precursor is the main enemy in Halo 4 and may use the forerunner tech at his disposal to oppose the chief. We also saw what seemed to be the other side of the ‘portal’ seen in the teaser trailer, and it looked like there was a lot of wreckage from multiple ships, both human and other. It looks like it is collecting this technology, but why?
> In the panel, they just said Forerunner structures would appear, and they would “not be abandoned”. So yes, they are alive. I’m calling it NOW!
They didn’t say the structures “wouldn’t be abandoned”, they said the structures would be active. Forerunner structures don’t need Forerunners around to be active.
In the new campaign they should have a level swap, like in Halo 2, where first you play as the chief, and then on the next level you play as the arbiter.
In the last cutscene of Halo 3 the Arbiter is seen taking a covenant cruiser back to his homeworld.
If you have seen the video on Halowaypoint called “What is the Halo Aray” Then you’ll know that there is a Halo ring orbiting around the elites homeplanet. With this being said when the arbiter goes back to his homeworld he discovers an other halo ring, when doing so he procedes to board the halo ring to investigate it,and thats where arbiters part would continue on from.
I know most of you are wishing for a new enemy, but to me, Halo wouldn’t be Halo if you are not fighting the Covenant, and I know that this really isn’t possible. Also that would be pretty cool if somehow the Arbiter made a comeback.
didnt the foruners have rivals maybe its them. i remember reading about them some where. i cant find there name any where but it could be them hunting for the lost foruner technology. or the game could be se in a battle between the forunners and the unknown rivals and you have to choose sides or both try to kill you

Maybe a H2-esque campaign? With some missions showing what is happening with the Elites and Humans, but most with MC.
There were the Precursors, the guys BEFORE the Forerunners. They brought the Flood in unintentionally, but they were gone before the Forerunners arrived.
