Who was the main writer for Halo 4?

I know there’s a group that writes for Halo and that Brian Reed was the main head behind Halo 5. So I was wondering who wrote Halo 4 considering people have said that he didn’t write Halo 4.

You’re thinking of Chris Schlerf, the Lead Writer of Halo 4. He left 343I to work with Bioware and the Mass Effect franchise. As for Brian Reed, he technically did write for Halo 4 and various comics. Reed was appointed Lead Writer after Schlerf left and he was responsible for story told in Spartan Ops and then Halo 5.

I think it’s a massive shame. Without ranting, I think the community largely agrees that Schlerf was an infinitely better writer than Brian Reed.

I know I’m in the minority in this forum for this viewpoint, but I thought H4’s story was pretty bad. It felt more like bad fan fiction than anything.

I loved Halo 4’s heartfelt and new story, but it could have been handled better.

This new writer isn’t very good if you ask me, and if most of the fans think so maybe 343i should reconsider, or he should rethink what he’s done and what he wants to do. Spartan Ops kind of sucked, to be honest, but I liked some parts of it.

Thanks guys! I do agree with most people when they say Brian Reed isn’t that good of a writer. I don’t want to insult him but he seems to lack basic storytelling features they should be in any story driven video game. There’s always time to improve but I think they should look into someone else, like the people who did HuntTheTruth.

Halo 4’s story is simply soberb, IMO. Its sad it had migrated to poor and retrocedent story of Halo 5.

What do you guys think about this Halo Infinite being a follow up AND a reboot a same time?
