Whoever was the creator for REQ Packs needs to change that garbage. You can only aquire Spartan armor by “getting lucky” , total trash.
I agree that the REQ System wasn’t designed with the gamer in mind. It was designed as Microtransactions, and while it may be “different” in its approach compared to most, that does not make it okay. They’re still meant to make money after the purchase of your $60, $100 or $250 Halo 5 game and it is wrong. The best we can do is share our opinions, how we are AGAINST this system, and hope they will make better decisions in the future because what’s done is done with Halo 5.
Microsoft probably. And they are trash because they made everything a req pack. If they just kept weapons and vehicles reqs in the req store and everything else like armor and skins and emblems req you must buy like the way Halo Reach did it I would be fine with it.
True, it could have been Microsoft and not at all 343. There are better ways to do the REQ Packs, even if they were still Microtransactions, it’s just that they were executed in possibly one of the worst ways possible. Random everything. It’s almost, and I say almost for a reason, as bad a Destiny’s random RNG system. I only say almost as bad because at least when you open a pack, you’re GUARANTEED to unlock something you don’t have yet unless you’ve gotten all your Bronze and Silver stuff and are moving onto Golds. But still, the system is littered with so much bad armor sets and so many certifications that sometimes you just want to snap your controller in half because what you get is just…not exciting or even good-looking. That mostly applies to the armors.
Oh…how I hate these forums.
First off, you cant compare any thing thats obtainable by the system to the system itself. Even if it wasnt in place, those items would most likely still be available.
Second, the system was created to provide something unique and different to Halo and see if it appealed to other players. Yea, we know the system wasnt the best, but it wasnt bad at all. The system ITSELF (NOT any of the armors or helmets, cause again, they have NOTHING to do with the system) at least provided something new to the game.
I would have preferred the Reach system over the REQ system, but again, it wasnt that bad.
(And guys, please, keep this kind of topic on one of the hundreds of other posts about the REQ system and post your comments there. We dont need this kind of -yoink- spamming up the forums)

Req Packs were definitely a cash grab. If you can’t agree with that than you are naive. Nothing feels earned, it is just like a slot machine. What happened to actually earning the armor instead of getting lucky? In short, why fix something that is not broken?
I would rather have them separate the packs to Weapon, Armour, Vehicle, and Boost packs. That way you might get what you’re after quicker than the current system.
REQ packs are a decent idea but they’ve been utalized so very wrong. They made so you have to rely on RNGesus for everything and spend money to get what you want faster which is utter bull BUT. We have micro transactions in place of paid DLC which we get free.

This guy, I completely agree. TBH the REQ system could have been used as it is now but, let players have all the standard loadout weapons (BR DMR SMG) as well as every normal UNSC unlocked with maybe 5 cards for us to use, that in the long run would also allow new players who joined a year late to be on a semi equal ground for warzone. Covenant, promethean and all the variants would then have to be unlocked by RNGesus.
When it comes to the armour they should have taken an entirely different route. Having commendations dictating the armour you unlock. Want that Scout armour? get 500 Sniper headshots. Want that soldier armour? Get 1000 kills in arena you get the point. Armour should be categorized in what the lore says it’s supposedly for. So long range style armour should have long ranged based commendations ect ect would make the armour feel more earned than having to use a slot machine.
I prefer reach’s way on unlocking armor. But something I’ll give credit to 4 is how there was armor you could only get from commendations. I thought that was cool
The biggest problem is that I have to get so much req points to get anything. I want wasp cert but I may get it in about 20 req packs or more. I think the req packs should reward more permanent reqs because I have to open 100 more req packs before I can start with gold without getting only garbage from the gold packs. If 343 wants to keep the req system, they should mke it more new player friendly because I cannot get all the reqs to get successful in Warzone.
Some of us like the req unlocking system the way it is. Emblems are enough from commendations, and Reach you had to play for ages upon ages to get everything. In Halo 5 the path to unlocking everything is rewarding and enjoyable as it is progressive.
Armour and helmets should be acquired purely on chance, that way amoung the community and even amount of people had it, whereas in Reach or 4 people would go for a certain armour and not bother with acquiring the rest. With this req system every armour and helmet and visor has just about an equal opportunity to be used. We don’t need another game, where there’s a huge hyperbole between popular and unpopular. Look at the way Halo 4 maps were done with the voting system, some maps remained relevant while others fell out.
The only thing I want changed is buffing the drop rate of Phaeton variants by a factor of at least 2, as well as for wasp and nerfing the drop rate of uncommon active camouflage.
Having req packs more catered to customisation or warzone could be good or really bad. SR 60’s getting Phaetons? That’s scary.
