I was just watching some show called “Mash Up” on comedy central, and than it went to commercials. And you know how Comedy Central does those commercials for there own shows? Well in the middle of that I saw the red symbol appear sightly. At first I thought I was crazy, but than right when I thought the commercial was about to end it fuzzed out, the symbol appeared with “An ancient evil awakens” and than the scanned trailer starts.

You don’t spend millions of dollars to say “check out this awesome game! Make sure you get it when it comes out a few months…”
You spend that money to say, “Yo! This -Yoinking!- sweet game here comes out like right now! You know you want it, so go get it!”

You need to tell us what happened before the interception. What was said?

Marketing for major media usually begins just a few weeks before said media releases, and continues for a month or two post release.
Marketing for months before hand doesn’t do anything.
If you market for something like this you don’t want to start months ahead of time. With the economy’s current state an Xbox game can be placed far down on the “want but don’t need” list. However if you get people all hyped up with less than two weeks to release date then they will be more likely to make a rash decision and go out and preorder/purchase the game.
Of course I’m fairly certain that this particular rash decision will NOT be regretted

Exactly! Saves people having to remember, saves you having to remind them and saves money trying to do it for such a long needlessly pointless amount of time.
